The selfless service of Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon Mudashiru Obasa towards the modernization of Agege has been honoured by Agege Local Government as management of the council, today, named its Legislative building after him.

The development was made known today by the Executive Chairman of Agege LG, Alhaji Ganiyu Kola Egunjobi during the presentation of the council's budget at the council's Legislative building.

Alhaji Egunjobi stated that the decision to name the building after Obasa was in appreciation of his remarkable representation of the Agege community in the state Assembly.

"There's no doubt that Rt. Hon. Obasa has contributed immensely to the development and growth of this great community. He has proven to be a role model for youths who want to achieve greater things in life. Rt. Hon. Obasa remains our symbol for his commitment, strong desire and resilience to the development and growth of this great community," Egunjobi revealed.

"He started his public career as an elected councillor at this hallowed council chamber in 1999 and today he is the leading lawmaker in Lagos State. It's because he started at this hallowed chamber we are naming the Legislative building after him. We are also unveiling his photograph while serving as a councillor here to serve as source of inspiration to young politicians that they can become great with commitment, loyalty, sense of purpose and perseverance," the Agege council chairman said.

Obasa who had honoured the invitation to witness the budget presentation as a guest was shocked when his eulogy took centre stage inside the chamber.

An elated Obasa was full of appreciation while responding to the gesture of the council. He said, "I'm happy and elated and I'm equally surprised at this very great honour. Nobody informed me that this is coming. I thought it was only for the budget presentation but indeed this is a very pleasant surprise, " Rt. Hon. Obasa said.

"We will not relent in our desire and commitment to the development and growth of the Agege community in particular and Lagos State in general.

"I also want to thank Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for his commitment to the even development and growth of Lagos in general and Agege in particular. I'm assuring you all that we remain steadfast to the growth of this state," he said.
