A fully loaded truck of sharp sand with registration number LSD 746 XX that fell on its side at Omole Bus Stop has been recovered by LASEMA.
The truck recovered inward Omole Roundabout Ogba, this afternoon by LASEMA Response Team, was conducted via manual tranloading of the the remaining sharp sand in the fallen truck, and the spilled content on the road, into another truck procured for that purpose.
The successful operation set the road free for vehicular movements, as it enabled the speedy recovery of the damaged, affected truck off the road, before it was handed over to Officers of the Nigerian Police Force from the Isheri Police Station.
Investigations by LASEMA Response Team on arrival at the incident scene revealed, that the fallen truck at Omole Bus Stop was due to a mechanical malfunction that lead to a break failure in the heavy duty truck while on motion which eventually resulted in loss of control.
According to available reports, the loss of control by the heavy duty truck while attempting to stop with it's full load of sharp sand, and propulsion by momentum, made the truck ram into a nearby electric pole, fall on it's left side, and subsequently spilling it's content on the road.
However, no casualties or fatalities were recorded in the operation where the LASEMA Response Team, Police and LASTMA were responders.
