One Year In Office: Hon. Akinola Idowu Empowers 400 Orile Agege Residents With N100K Each

In his statement,  The Council Chairman said, "The one-year anniversary celebration stands as another testament to our administration's resolve to deliver inclusive governance, promote economic growth, and ensure that the dividends of democracy reach every resident of Orile-Agege LCDA".



Hon. Akinola Idowu also appreciated President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, for their continuous leadership and support. He also thanked party leaders, royal fathers, Baales, market associations, community leaders, and residents for their confidence in his administration.



The Chairman highlighted several landmark achievements recorded within one year, including the construction and rehabilitation of roads and drainage systems, environmental improvement initiatives, rehabilitation of the INEC office at Arigbanla, provision of official vehicles for Obas and Baales, implementation of the Green Orile-Agege Initiative, support for waste management through LAWMA debt waivers and the procurement of waste evacuation trucks, environmental sanitation stakeholders' engagements, distribution of educational materials to pupils in public primary schools, non-interest loans for waste management operators, free GCE and JAMB forms for students, skill acquisition programmes, and the successful "Run and Fight for Asiwaju" sporting event.



Akinola reaffirmed his administration's commitment to delivering more impactful projects and people-oriented programmes that will continue to improve the standard of living across Orile-Agege LCDA.



In her welcome address, the Council Manager, Mrs. Seriki Kehinde, expressed gratitude to God for the successful leadership of Hon. Akinola Idowu Dodo. She commended the Chairman for his outstanding performance in infrastructure development, environmental sanitation, staff welfare, and responsive governance. She also acknowledged the unwavering support of the Vice Chairman, Hon. Wale Fayemi, and the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Afolabi Omotunde (APHOO), describing their teamwork as a major driving force behind the administration's successes.



The event, which was coordinated by the Head of Information, Mrs. Bukola Bankole, brought together political leaders, traditional rulers, community stakeholders, market leaders, religious leaders, party faithful, and residents to celebrate the achievements recorded by the council within the past year.


The event also featured goodwill messages from party leaders, community stakeholders, and other dignitaries, who applauded Hon. Dodo for his visionary leadership, dedication to grassroots development, and remarkable achievements within just one year in office.

A major highlight of the celebration was the presentation of ₦100,000 each to 400 beneficiaries, amounting to ₦40 million in direct financial empowerment. The beneficiaries were also informed that they would be considered for an additional ₦2 million business support initiative in the near future, further demonstrating the council's commitment to economic empowerment and sustainable development.
