Historic: Lagos TGPS, Barr. Solarin Wins "Africa Outstanding TGPS of the Decade"

 Tutor General/Permanent Secretary, Lagos Education District I, Agege,   Barrister  Titilayo Margaret Solarin  has won the "Outstanding Tutor General/ Permanent Secretary of the Decade by Africa Brand Review for 2019/2020 Africa Top Schools Report and Award ceremony held yesterday evening at Ostra event center in Alausa, Ikeja Lagos.

 Joseph Ayodele, the organiser, said that the award was bestowed on Barrister Solarin by panel of experts for her:

*Quality service and representation of her people/profession.
*Standard bearer for Service delivery in Leadership positions.
*Trusted and reliable social partner in societal Service and development.
* Helping to strengthen excellent service delivery and measurement recognition in African.

AgegePulse learnt that the event was organized to Celebrate Top Africa Schools as well as other Outstanding Educators in Africa.

Also, Principal, Vetland Senior Grammar school, Mrs A.E Taiwo and her School were honoured with Africa Most Outstanding Principal and  2020 Africa Top schools Award respectively.

TGPS EDD1, Barr. Solarin Commends Teacher Who Donates Lab for Lagos School

The Tutor General /Permanent Secretary, Barrister Margaret Titilayo Solarin has commended the foresight exhibited by the computer teacher, Jakande Estate Comprehensive Senior College, Abesan, Mr. Soji Megbowon, for the feat in his innovation of "Internet Of Things" (IOT) donated to the school laboratory in tandem with the pillar " Education and Technology" of the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda of present administration and also aligning with the Social Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.

Speaking at the IOT commissioning ceremony held on Tuesday, at the  school complex, the District Director, Schools Administration, Mr. Oluyemi Adesina who represented the TGPS, described the convener as "unselfish" person who thought it desirable to bequeath the IOT laboratory as giant stride in his envision to better the lives of the students and teachers in the global world of ICT.

He further remarked that, Mr. Megbowon had his education right and for him to have came up with the noble and marvelous innovation, posterity will surely judge him, for having done the right and providing great opportunities for the students and teachers to take the right direction to compete favourably with counterparts both locally and globally.

According to the convener, Mr. Megbowon, the IOT innovation laboratory is a school research center that empower the students to make research and create innovative technologies to improve the society and in the process, becoming the future problem solvers and social innovators and as such chronicled as the transformational leaders of the world repute.

Aside, the IOT laboratory will assist the teachers to becoming more professional, having access to modern trends and information on internet to impact quality education for the students.

He disclosed that his interactions with the internet world has propelled him to have birthe the "innovation" coupled with the resources he had from the Maltina Competition and also driven by the UNESCO target of ensuring, education of inclusive, quality and life long for children.

Recall,  Mr. Soji Megbowon won the Maltina Teachers Competition of the year, 2019, First Runout,  thus emerging as one of the best 50 in the world.

The dignitaries that graced the occasion include among others: the representative of the Hon. Commissioner of Education, and Special Assistant on STEM, Dr. Tola Salau, the Principals within the school complex, ANCOPPS Chairman and Chairperson, Mr. Ojedokun and Mrs Onanuga Nwafor and Head Corporate Affairs, Maltina Plc, Mrs. Sade Morgan.

The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary(TGPS) Lagos State Education District 1, Barr. Titilayo Margaret Solarin, Solarin Titi was so excited following the initiative of poultry  venture at Government Girls Junior College in Agege.



Barr. Solarin commended the school administrative during a  familiarity tour to Government Girls Junior College, Agege.

She said, "this is laudable,  and I call other School Principals to emulate".
