According to the organisers, the year in review for the award is July 2016 to December 2017.
Small Doctor's popular song titled Penalty, is nominated among Nigeria's popular street songs within the period under review for Best Street-Hop Artiste. The nominees include: PENALTY by Small Doctor, WO by Olamide, SAI BABA by CDQ, SHEPETERI by Idowest FT. Dammy Krane and Slim Case, PASS THE AGBARA by Skuki, LEGBEGBE by Mr Real FT. Idowest, Kelvin Chucks, Obadice.
Also, the Akeweje Oganla crooner is nominated among Nigeria's finest artistes for the Song of the Year award. The nominees include: PENALTY – Small Doctor, WO – Olamide, IF - Davido, YEBA – Kiss Daniel, MAD OVER YOU – Runtown, and FIA – Davido.
