The Residents of Orile Agege LCDA have showered and encomium on the Executive Chairman of Orile Agege, Hon. Akinola Abiodun Idowu, over 50% Reduction on Food items.
The event which witnessed over 2,000 residents benefited from the initiative, it was learnt that the 50% Food reduction was a collaboration with Inspire Food Lagos in a public‑private partnership that combats food insecurity through mobile markets offering staple foods at 50% off.
"Orile Agege local council development area today, under the leadership of Hon Akinola Abiodun Idowu,witnessed another turning point with the sales of various food commodities at half the price in conjunction with Inspire Food Lagos.
"Operating across Local Government and Local Councils development areas, has impacted thousands of families with this slash in prices of commodities.
"This impactful initiative took place today at the Orile Agege Council Secretariat, located at #2 Arigbanla Street, Abekoko Bus Stop,OrileAgege.
"Residents were fully on ground from morning till this evening taking advantage of this opportunity to purchase quality food stuffs at half the price
"This heartfelt initiative which was 50% reduction on staple food items to 2,000 citizens across 6 wards in Orile‑Agege LCDA, received the subsidy, thereby empowering families to access essential nutrition at half the usual cost.
It was learnt that this initiative was aimed at bringing immediate relief, foster community solidarity, and highlight the role of compassionate leadership in combating food insecurity in the council area
"This initiative, which reflects a deep commitment to community welfare, is part of broader efforts to support economic relief and enhance public access to essential programs.
According to residents, the 50% reduction has seriously brought a big relief to them intems of feeding at this trying time, a Special appreciation goes to the Executive Chairman of Orile Agege LCDA, Honorable Akinola Abiodun Idowu whose visionary leadership and people-first approach have made this bold initiative possible.
His dedication to grassroots development and tireless efforts to uplift the lives of citizens continue to inspire hope and progress across the LCDA.
