The Tutor General/Permanent Secretary of Education District III, Dr. Yinka Ayandele has applauded the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration's intervention in the education sector, saying that the introduction of many innovations into the education sector has improved the standard of teaching and learning in the State.

Speaking during the District's Annual Merit Award held at its headquarters, Dr. Ayandele lauded the State Government for swiftly rising to the challenge posed by COVID-19 in the sector by deploying new ways and means, through technology and human resources, to ensure that the pandemic had minimal effect on the State's academic calendar such as the introduction of virtual learning platforms among others.

While noting that the various interventions have improved the performance of teachers as well as affected students in the District positively, Ayandele described the award recognitions presented to over 20 teachers within the District as one of the ways of appreciating the teachers' sense of commitment and selflessness before, during and after the Statewide lockdown last year.

The TG/PS maintained that in spite of the pandemic, teachers in the District performed beyond expectations, attributing the feat to the priority attention given to technology and innovation in the Education sector by the State Government.
