Aminat Yusuf, the best graduating student of the 2021/2022 set at Lagos State University (LASU), attributes her success to mentorship, hard work, and divine guidance. In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Yusuf shared her inspiring story, highlighting the challenges she overcame during her undergraduate days.
Despite facing financial constraints, Yusuf persevered, often relying on modest means to sustain herself. She recounted how she would save up her feeding allowance to acquire essential skills, settling for garri and groundnuts as a meal. Her determination paid off, as she graduated with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.00, earning her a First Class Honours degree.
Yusuf credited her success to her parents' motivation, her lecturers' dedication, and her own hard work. She called on Nigerians to invest in education and praised the Student Loan Act, hoping it would alleviate financial burdens for future students.
Yusuf also announced plans to launch a YouTube channel, "Learning Law with Aminat," aimed at giving back to her community. Her story serves as a testament to the power of resilience and determination.
