Wrestler Blessing Oborududu has won the first silver medal for Nigeria in the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

This adds to the earlier bronze won by long jumper, Ese Brume, in the long jump final.
Oborududu who had carried the hope of team Nigeria for a Gold medal lost 4-1 to her opponent USA’s Tamyra Mensah-Stock in the final of the women’s freestyle 68kg Tuesday.
Blessing Oborududu is the first Nigerian wrestler ever to win a silver medal at the ongoing Games.
