Victims Rescued As LASEMA Releases Preliminary Report of Collapsed Building in Ojodu |
*INCIDENT DESCRIPTION:*
Upon arrival of Agency’s Response Teams at the incident scene by 09:52hrs, it was discovered that a 3-storey building housing a Restaurant and Bar had collapsed, with several victims trapped under the debris at the aforementioned location.
*CAUSE OF INCIDENT:*
- Cause of the collapsed building is yet to be ascertained as at the time of writing this report.
*CASUALTY REPORT:*
- 8 victims has been rescued so far.
- One of the rescued victims attended by the LASEMA Pre-Hospital Care Unit has been transported to the hospital for further medical attention.
- Fatality: No deaths has been recorded so far from the incident as the time of writing this report.
*ACTION TAKEN:*
- LASEMA Response Teams commenced Search and Rescue efforts immediately on arrival.
- Safety measures were activated with the operational area cordoned-off at the incident scene.
- The Agency`s Heavy-duty equipment, 'the escavator', has been activated and deployed to aid in the quick rescue of victims that may still be trapped beneath the collapsed structure
