Nigerian Policeman Kills Colleague During Argument Over Second-Hand Phone


Facts have emerged how a Nigerian policeman killed his colleague in Lagos State during a verbal confrontation over a fairly used phone.


A press statement issued by the police authorities said it had launched an investigation into the shooting incident.


The statement said it involved police aides attached to a lawyer, Barrister Wale Fapohunda in the Surulere area of Lagos State on August 8, 2024.


The statement reads: “According to a police report, on August 8, 2024, at approximately 10:22pm, information was received from the Control Room that a police officer from SPU Base 10 Sokoto, who was assigned to Barrister Wale Fapohunda, shot and killed Gabriel Audu, a legion attached to the same lawyer.


“As soon as the information was received, the police team left for Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), where the suspect F/ No 510570 Corporal Umar Lawal was apprehended, and his rifle AK-47, which he used to kill the deceased, was also recovered.


“He confessed to the crime and stated that he truly wanted to shoot Vincent, aka Dogman, who had engaged him in a heated argument over a used phone he had purchased from him.

“Unfortunately, the bullet struck the deceased in the chest, and he was taken to Luth General Hospital Idiaraba, where he was pronounced dead.


“The corpse has been photographed, and his remains have been placed in the same hospital morgue for autopsy.”

Herdsmen nabbed as stray cow kills three-month-old baby | AgegePulse Magazine

A stray cow has killed a three-month-old baby in the Ebrumede community, Effurun area of the Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, throwing the community into pandemonium.


PUNCH Metro gathered that the incident occurred on Monday while the cow was being escorted to a buyer by two herdsmen.

Sources said the cow suddenly strayed off the DSC Expressway by the Ebrumede Magistrates’ Court, near the DSC roundabout, and attacked a woman from the rear.


The baby, who was strapped to its mother’s back, was said to have been fatally hit by the cow’s horns and died on the spot before medical assistance could be provided.


Eyewitnesses said the cow’s horns hit the baby in the head and broke the skull.


The animal was also said to have injured an elderly man after straying into the nearby court premises, where lawyers and their clients fled for safety.


When contacted, the acting Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident and said the herdsmen escorting the cow had been arrested by the personnel of the Ebrumede Police Station. "

Bus driver kills two while running away from Customs

Tragedy struck on Tuesday in Akinale in Ewekoro local government area of Ogun when a bus driver rammed into two people while running away from men of Nigerian Customs Service.

The bus driver who allegedly carried cartons of Turkey swerved and somersaulted while attempting to escape from the Customs men and rammed into the people including a Vulcaniser who was beside the road.

An eye witness told our correspondent that the suspected smugglers were taking the contraband to Lagos when the men of NCS chased him along  Abeokuta-Lagos Abeokuta Expressway.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the State , Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the incident.

Oyeyemi said, “it’s true the Customs men were chasing the bus and it summersault and killed two people “.

The Customs PRO in the state, Abdullahi Maiwadah, however, promised to get back to our correspondent as soon as he got the detail.

He said, “Reference to your information, we have commenced an investigation, I will get across to you as soon as I get the details”.
