Apparently, this result recorded by the All Progressives Congress at the February 23 Presidential Election is nothing to write home about. The performance was very poor to compare with the 4 million votes APC targeted. Many of the APC supposedly strong Politicians are not that strong afterall. They are riding on the past glory.

They built their strengths on the popularity of the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The ability to canvass for votes is not at equilibrium point, compared with the sagacity of Tinubu when it comes to winning souls.

Many of his subordinate politicians are not doing what were expected of them. Instead, they relied on the pretext of Asiwaju. They are not good and sociable in their communities. They are less concerned about what is happening in their vicinity.

They even frustrated some active members because they belong to another caucus. Their leadership know-how is weak, self-centred and hid under the ego of the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. APC should encourage more of grassroot politics. The outcome of the presidential election has showed that politics is local and the people cannot be taken for a ride.

The idea of *"Asiwaju has pronounced"* should be minimal. The voters are not too pleased about the statement. Hence, they see APC as one man's show, others are not important in the whole process.

The grassroot politicians now play their balls to the court of the National leader's decision, leaving behind the interests of the voters. We now played politics horizontally not vertically, whereas, it has to be played both vertically and horizontally to achieve desired result.

This might affect during the Governorship and Assembly elections next Saturday. Don't forget that voters are more than politicians in terms of population.

My advice is that APC should buckled up for the next elections. This presidential result should not be relied upon. Let us work for the Party so that the margin will be more than this.
