The case of two Durosinmi-Onikoyi brothers could be akin to the common saying that, "Everyday is for a thief, a day will be for the owner".

These two brothers, Sunday and Felix, aged 29 and 22 respectively, had been living a dubious life of spending fake Nigerian currencies until Thursday, August 22, 2019 when they met their waterloo.

They had left their 30, Akala Street, Idi-Oro residence in Lagos for Sango otta in Ogun State, to defray the over N100, 000 fake currency notes they armed themselves with.

Crime Puzzle gathered that, having succeeded in beating unsuspecting traders to the game and purchased eight bags of rice with the fake currency, they moved on to one
Moses Nwese's shop in the Gasline area of Ijoko in Sango-otta axis, where they bargained for two bags of the same item (rice), payed N29, 000 and hurriedly left the scene with their operational Honda Odyssey bus, with registration number LSR 504 AZ.

But, while they were fleeing, the shop owner recounted the money, payed in N1, 000  denomination, only to discover, in shock, that they were all counterfeits, and raised an alarm.

Co-incidentally, according to a press release made available to Crime Puzzle, the Sango-otta Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Godwin Idehai, who was on a routine patrol of the area, got wind of the development and detailed his operatives to chase the suspects, whom they caught up with in no distant time.

The Command's spokesman (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirming the incident in a press release said: "On searching them,#78,000 (Seventy Eight Thousand Naira) fake One thousand naira notes, an unregistered Bajaj motorcycle and 10 bags of rice were recovered from them.

Oyeyemi further stated that the State Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama, had ordered a full scale investigation into the activities of the two brotherly partners in crime, adding that, on the completion of investigation activities, they should be arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction.
