The council chairman was optimistic that many youths would benefit from such a development in Agege community.

“Such an institution will also improve the economic standard of the area in terms of demand and supply of goods and services.

“The university authorities have reached an understanding with the management of Agege Local Government Area to site a study centre in the suburb,’’ he said.

According to him, part of the agreements reached was the constitution of a six-man committee comprising of three from each side, charged with drafting a Memorandum of Understanding that will be binding on both parties.

He said the parties decided that the council would provide land on which the study centre would be built, while NOUN would construct the buildings.

Egunjobi said that the university authorities conceded to the council’s demand to have Agege residents dominate the centre’s workforce, particularly the non-academic staff when it comes into operation.
