I'M Influencer of Our Rich Culture, Tradition - Oniru of Iru | AgegePulse Magazine

"Culture and heritage are the foundation of any people; and this is why asides from being a King, I am a strong advocate and influencer of our rich culture and tradition.

"I recognize the fact that I am incapable of achieving the #LeGIT vision alone and this is why I invest not only in the community but in the people.

"Furthermore to achieving this and based on nominations from the concerned areas; yesterday, December 15, 2020, I installed three (3) Baales, Namely: Chief Abdulrafiu Mobolaji Aruna Akinsemoyin over Apapa-Eleko Community, Chief Bashiru Arowolo Afolami over Oroke Community and Chief Sarumi Babatunde Taiwo over Araromi Ancient Town.

"Whilst I congratulate all Baales and pray that their reign is fruitful and prosperous; I also implore them to uphold fairness, equality, justice, peace and development.

"Lastly, I also ask that all residents of these communities accord the Baales respect and route all complaints and concerns through the Baales.

"I thank HRM Oba Babatunde Akanbi Ogunronbi of Shasha Kingdom and (Hon.) Princess Rasheedat Abiosun Adu the chairperson of Iru LCDA; for joining and supporting me in this coronation exercise as your presence added colour to the event".

Lagos restates commitment to reducing housing deficit - AgegePulse

Lagos State Commissioner for Housing, Prince Gbolahan Lawal has affirmed that the State Government is committed to reducing the housing deficit which stands at about 2.5 million following the on-going construction of housing estates across the State.

Lawal, accompanied by the Permanent Secretary and Directors in the Ministry, made this known during an inspection tour of some housing estates at Ibeshe and Igbogbo, both in Ikorodu Division.

According to him, many units would soon be ready for allocation to first-time homeowners under the Rent-To-Own or Rental Housing Policies of the State Government and admonished contractors handling the housing schemes, to expedite action on the projects.

He also enjoined the contractors and the supervising technical staff to work as a team so that the government would deliver on its promises to Lagos residents in the area of Housing, attributing the inability to meet the housing needs of Lagosians to the daily influx of people into Lagos.

Lawal, however, gave assurance that the State Government would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that Lagos residents have access to affordable housing units that are convenient, safe and within employment areas.

He enjoined residents to always pay their taxes regularly so that government can do more in the provision of housing and other essential infrastructure.
