Playground’s Essential To School Pupils' Development - Egunjobi



...As Vina Progressive Donates Playground Facility To Agege School



As it's widely believed that 'Play' is the key to physical, mental, intellectual and social development of children, the Executive Chairman of Agege LG, Alhaji Ganiyu Kola Egunjobi recently stated that playground is imperative to the all round development of pupils in school.

Egunjobi who was ably represented by the Vice Chairman of the Council, Prince Abiodun Ogunji at the launching of a Playground Facility constructed and donated to a public school in Agege by Vina progressive Association.


The Council Chairman, appreciated Vina for this facility saying that It will impact hugely on almost every developmental aspects of children’s lives, holistically.



“Besides, for many children, school play time is the most active part of their day. Therefore, school playground and school playtime are vital to children for their fun and relaxation as well as their good health and well-being”.

Speaking at the launching,  the President of Vina Progressive Association, a not-for-profit organisation, Mrs. Ronke Babaita said that the school playground is an important facility for children to play every day on their own initiatives.

The facility includes a swing, See-Saw, Slide, merry-go-rounds, spring riders etc. These are options for school children to choose desired play choice.

 “It puts enormous positive impacts on children’s development and learning curve”. Says, Babaita

AgegePulse Magazine in a brief chat witb School administrators, Tutor General/Permanent Secretary, Education District 1, Barr. Mrs. Titilayo Margaret Solarin, ably represented by Director of School Co-Curricular, Mrs. Akande and Education Secretary, Agege LGEA, Hon. Olamilekan Majiyagbe lauded the initiative.

They both commended the initiative, saying it will provide students with the leisure facilities to make primary education interesting and student-friendly. Like Oliver twist, the administrators urged other NGOs to emulate the gesture.

The playground was officially unveiled by Olufemi Awogbami (Executive Member, Vina Progressive Association)

Before You Mistook Pen Cinema For Another Area?

This is to inform all road users most especially motorist that by the time they drive towards Pen Cinema, Agege tomorrow, the popular and ever busy Roundabout may appear like another Roundabout because of some physical restructuring that was done in the area today.

This evening, men of the Lagos State Public Works were sighted at Pen Cinema, dismantling the beautiful sculptural work which houses the statue of erstwhile King of Agege Kingdom, Oba Ogunji.
