Police discover lion at residential building in Lagos

A two-year-old lion has been discovered in a residential building in the Victoria Island area of Lagos State.

 The lion is believed to be owned by a yet to be named Indian national. The lion is caged at Number 229, Muri Okunola Street in Victoria Island.

The Chairman of Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences, Yinka Egbeyemi, confirmed that the lion is owned by an India National.

According to him, men of
the Nigeria Police Force have been deployed to the area to prevent the animal from coming out of the cage.

Egbeyemi also said that efforts were ongoing by the state government through the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to evacuate the animal from the building.

He added that the Indian national who owns the lion has been invited for questioning.

Security officials uncover another kidnap den in Ojokoro axis of Lagos.



An underground den for alleged ritualists have been discovered by residents of obadeyi under Ojokoro LCDA along the Lagos Abeokuta expressway.


Some road side sweepers who alerted resident in the early hours of today said a woman and her child were dragged into the hole as she cried for help.


Following residents Intervention, one AbdulRaheem was  brought out of the canal that links Agbado Oke Odo area still on the expressway.

Efforts by security operates to arrest the alleged ritualist proved abortive as aggrieved youths and touts lynched him and set him ablaze as he insisted he can not confess but preferred to be killed.


The Lagos state fire service truck assisted in saving his life as they put out the fire from the man that was set a blazed.
While two other alleged ritualists were caught at different end of the canals around Obadeyi end and Ijaiye.


They confessed to the fact that there is a ritualist den under the road that has been in operation for over four years.
The suspects are presently at Ojokoro police station.

In addition to this, the burnt suspect according to report was prodded to reveal the secret about the den but was said to have said that he would prefer to die rather than make any revelation about it.

Heavy gridlock has since build up in the axis and movement has since been greatly hampered.
