According to the election’s Returning Officer, Joseph Afuwape, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Ademola Adeleke, got 254,699 votes while Isiaka Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress had 254,345 votes.
Iyiola Omisore of the Social Democratic Party polled 128,049 votes to place a distant third.
Afuwape went on to declare the election inconclusive due to the fact that the difference between the two leading parties was 353 votes while the number of cancelled votes was 3,5498.

If INEC likes, let them declare this Osun State election inconclusive. This election has proven that power belongs to the people and not with the godfathers. OSUN GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION is the trailer of PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION 2019#OsunDecides2018— Riches💸✌ (@DaveRaez) September 23, 2018
#INEC calls for a rerun in those areas where the#OsunDecides2018 election was cancelled. The difference bw the votes garnered by the leading PDP & APC is just 353.
Fairness demands that there should be a rerun if the voting population of the affected areas is more than 353.

INEC has to be consistent in its application of the rules. The cancelled votes during the by election for the Lokoja Federal Constituency was more than the margin of victory between the two front leading candidates. But the election was returned
