LASPARK Hails TGPS Ayandele As She Plants Trees To Honour Retirees

Assistant Director, LASPARK, Mrs. Funmilayo Dawodu expressed the agency's appreciation while speaking at a tree planting event organized by EDD1 in honour of five retiring staff of the district as part of the ceremonies marking their last day in office.




Mrs. Dawodu commended Dr. Ayandele for her show of dynamism through impressive innovations in executing tasks. She added that no one would have thought of planting trees in this version.

This is indeed awesome. It is a great show of ingenuity and creativity from Dr Ayandele. Mrs Dawodu asserted.




According to her, the Green Initiative is part of the efforts to compliment the efforts of the agency to make Lagos green, healthier and conducive.

Assessing the EDD1 tree planting event, the Public Relations Officer of LASPARK, Mr. Sanusi noted that the initiative Is first of its kind and worthy of emulation. He stressed that Dr Ayandele is a great thinker with unique perspective to issues. He revealed that the species of the trees planted are Nerium and Lager Stromia adding that the two species are good for the location, WEMCO Road, Ogba - a reserved area for greening in Lagos.

Mr Sanusi urged other agencies, clubs, corporate bodies and individuals to emulate and adopt the idea of making their environment green.

Earlier, TGPS, EDD1, Dr. Yinka Ayandele said the significance of the event was to plant trees to commemorate the last day in office of district's staff retiring in the month of March/April, 2019.



The multiple award winning educationist stressed that the initiative was considered because tree planting precipitates abundant environmental supports to humanity adding that the district deemed it fit to honour the retiring members' selfless services to humanity with an everlasting project.

"Trees are for life and the initiative will allow them (retiring staff) to remember Lagos for life. Trees provide shieId for man, fresh air and the aesthetics given to our environment and surroundings are second to none. They (retiring staff) have served meritoriously, they deserved to be celebrated. Dr. Ayandele said.

Speaking on behalf of other retirees, the immediate past Director of Schools Administration, EDD1, Mrs. A.A. Ako eulogized Dr. Ayandele for immortalizing them as they bow out of office statutorily. Mr. Lawrence Ajiteru, Mr. J.T Bolarinwa, Mrs. M.F Aroluwayin and Mrs. Akinlosotu are other retiring staff of the District.


She added that they will be grateful to Lagos State forever for affording them opportunity to serve the state, using their God given talents to serve humanity selflessly.
