The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has appointed Mrs. Afusat Anike Tiamiyu as the Acting General Manager of the Lagos State Drivers’ lnstitute (LASDRI).
According to a letter (LAG/HOS/78/T/135) dated 10th October 2019 and signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, the appointment took due cognisance of her integrity, selfless service and record of impressive performance.
Tiamiyu graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State, with Second Class Upper Degree in Education/Yoruba in 1992 and also has a Masters Degree in Transport Studies obtained from Olabisi Onabanjo University in 2004.
The Acting General Manager joined the Lagos State Public Service in 1993 as a Traffic Management Officer in the Ministry Of Works and Transport and was later deployed to Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) as one of its pioneer staff in 2000. She served in various capacities and was also the first female Zonal Head at LASTMA.
She was later redeployed to the Transport Policy and Coordination Department in the Ministry of Transportation in 2004 and subsequently posted to Lagos State Drivers’ lnstitute (LASDRI) on 8th December 2009.
A pioneer staff of the Lagos State Drivers’ Institute, Tiamiyu served in various capacities including Head of Centre, Ikeja, Head of Corporate Affairs Department and Director, Training Department.
The Acting General Manager is expected to bring her expertise to bear in the management of the affairs of the institute in line with the Transportation policy thrust of the present administration.
She is a member of the Nigeria lnstitute of Personnel Management, Canadian Association of Road Safety Practitioners and the Swedish Alumni Association of Nigeria.
