Top African Group, Africa Brand Review Commends Dr Ayandele, EDD1 Staff

There is no doubt that excellence is never an accident but a result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution which represent the gradual result of relentless striving to do better. The aforementioned as well as the motto of Lagos Education District One; - 'Do it right, be the best,' are the rationale behind the latest recognition that is coming the way of Tutor General and Permanent Secretary of EDDI, Dr Yinka Ayandele and her team from outside the shores of Nigeria.



After claiming multiple awards and recognitions for outstanding performance this year, Dr Ayandele and her team have once again been commended for their invaluable contribution to the growth of education and individuals under their watch.

The latest recognition was coming from the Premier School Rating Agency In Africa (Organisers of Africa Top Schools Awards). According to a congratulatory letter tagged 'Congratulations To An Achiever' sent to Dr Ayandele, the agency expressed delight towards the excellent performance of EDDI staff and students who have been outstanding in different capacities this year, Agegepulse learnt.

Agegepulse Magazine gathered that the agency sighted Mrs Modupe Akinbami who won the 2019 Inspiration School Leader Award of Meadow Hall Group and Master Ezeunala Ekene Franklin (a product of Dr Ayandele's Diplomatic Corps Initiative) who emerged overall best candidate of the 2019 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination as some of the proceeds of the hard work and success of several initiatives of Permanent Secretary and her team.

The group singled out Dr Ayandele as peerless among several managers of education in Nigeria due to the high level of successes that are always recorded from her initiatives. It however, promised to add another feather to the overflowing awards cabinet of the soft-spoken educationist come 2020.

"These landmark achievements represent enormous credit to your team, teachers and students to their hardwork and success. The results and your numerous initiatives/programs show that you are a special breed among the technocrats managing schools in Nigeria.

"These are achievements for which you and all Lagosians can be proud of. From African Brands Review, we send our best wishes for continuing improvement in the years ahead and restate our resolve to specially honour you during the March 5, 2020 Africa Top Schools Awards." The group commended.

Dr Ayandele Wins Shenomics Africa Award As Most Innovative Educationist

...As Staff Throw Surprise Birthday Celebration For Her

Award winning educationist and Tutor General / Permanent Secretary of Lagos Education District One, Dr Mrs Yinka Ayandele has added another feather to her overwhelmed cap of awards and recognitions.

This time, it is the coveted Shenomics Africa Award in partnership with Google as part of event marking the celebration of the 2019 International Women's Day.

Dr Ayandele who had over the years been nicknamed 'Oluwa fi awards yimika' (God Surround Me with Awards) for intimidating cabinet of performance based awards and honours, emerged victorious once again when she was deemed fit for the Shenomics Africa award in the 'Innovation in Education' category as the Most Innovative Woman Educationist of the year, Agegepulse gathered.

The award was presented to her at the EDD1 headquarters in Agege, Lagos during a surprise birthday celebration organised for her by members of staff on March 18.

The Shenomics Africa and Google team who presented the award to her expressed delight at the level of innovations and dynamism that Dr Ayandele has been injecting into teaching and learning methodology under her juristisdiction.

The team noted that they carried out several investigations on all the nominees for the Innovation In Education category and she emerged top adding that results of their research showed that she has introduced several result-oriented initiatives into the system which have constantly endeared the district to emerge top in both curricular and co-curricular activities for students and teachers.

An elated Dr Ayandele was taken by surprise when she was ushered downstirs from her office and found out that staff members have gathered alongside her sister, Mrs Soname, with several gifts, birthday cards, assorted cakes and drinks.

The staff took turns to shower encomiums on the celebrant amidst praise and worship songs. Friends, teachers and principals who could not make it to the headquarters flooded social media with heart touching birthday messages and prayers for Dr Ayandele.

Speaking to Agegepulse, Dr Ayandele said she was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from her team members, friends and family on her birthday. She said; "my sincere appreciation for your good wishes and prayers on my birthday. God be praised always!"

Dr Ayandele Sets To Partner Agege LGA On Educational Developmental Programmes

The Tutor General/ Permanent Secretary of Lagos Education District One, Dr Mrs Yinka Ayandele yesterday, paid a courtesy call on the Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government Area, Alhaji Ganiyu Kola Egunjobi at his office in Agege. 

AgegePulse gathered that yesterday's  meeting was the first time the two Agege role models will be meeting officially. 

It was learnt that part of the discussions at the meeting was deliberation on the need to develop more educational programmes that would improve the standard of basic and secondary education in Agege. 

It was gathered that Dr Ayandele used the medium to acquaint Egunjobi with the upcoming programmes of EDDI, while inviting him to grace the occasion as a special guest of honour. 

She shared some of the district's achievements recently, stating that she plans to partner Agege LGA on educational programs that will have lasting positive impact on Agege scholars.

Responding, Egunjobi appreciated Dr Ayandele's developmental strides since her appointment as the TGPS of EDDI which have given Agege marvelous scorecard in the education sector.

While highlighting some of his achievements in the development of education since he assumed office, Egunjobi said education is one of major focus of his administration, hence the investment in both academic and vocational studies to gainfully engage Agege youths. 

He stressed that it is an honour to have someone like Dr Ayandele as part of the system in Agege, while assuring her of his support for the district's activities

11yr old Hyperrealism Artist, Kareem Visits TGPS EDDI, Dr Ayandele



...Presents Encouraging 3rd Term Exams Results

11yr old super talented Hyperrealism artist, Kareem Waris Olamilekan on Thursday paid a courtesy call on the Permanent Secretary and Tutor General of Lagos Education District One, Dr Yinka Ayandele.


AgegePulse learnt that the visit was to acquaint Dr Ayandele with the classroom performance of Kareem in line with his God given creative talent. He is a pupil of Oke-Odo Junior College under EDDI.


She called for support for Kareem to aid an all-round development of his talent and academic prowess.


The visit was revealed by Dr Ayandele in a short post on her social media handle.


The statement reads: "I received talented  hyperrealist artist, Kareem Waris Olamilekan in my office this week. It was a pleasure meeting him in company of his mother and his school principal. Recall Waris drew the portrait of French President, Emmanuel Macron within 2hours recently.


It may interest you to know that as Waris is doing fine with his creative talent, he is also performing creditably well in his academics. The pupil of Oke-Odo Junior College had very encouraging results in the just concluded 3rd term examinations.


We need to support him to ensure an all-round development for him.

TGPS Dr Ayandele, Hon Egunjobi, Hon J.S Babatunde Win Merit Awards

It was award galore for some of the golden sons and daughters of Agege LG and Orile Agege LCDA, over the weekend as the two Councils' Chairmen and the Tutor General/Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Education District One, Dr. Yinka Ayandele won separate awards.

Top on the list was the the conferment of Local Government Chairman of the year on the Executive Chairman of Orile Agege Local Council Development Area, Hon. Johnson Sunday Babatunde by popular society magazine, City People, barely four months in office.

According to organisers of the City People Annual Awards, J.S Babatunde was selected among the 57 council chairmen of Lagos State because he hit the ground running with various social amenities tailored towards the immediate yearning of the people.

However, the duo of Executive Chairman of Agege LGA, Hon. Egunjobi and the Tutor General/Permanent Secretary of Lagos Education District One, Dr. Yinka Ayandele were recognised for their maverick performances by the Lions Club of Agege at the club's official presentation of The New Century President of Agege Lions Club, Lion Folajuwon Oloyede Alaba as the the 19th President and Installation of Club Officers.

While Egunjobi was given an Award of Appreciation for his total commitment to the upliftment and development of his people through his inclusive governance initiative, Dr Ayandele received an Award of Excellence for her exemplary leadership and total commitment to the development of education in Agege and Lagos as a whole.

Speaking after receiving the award, Hon. Egunjobi who was represented by his Vice, Prince Ogunji appreciated the organisers and restated that his office is open for such organization that takes community development as part of their cardinal objectives.

On her part, Dr Yinka Ayandele who was represented by one of the Education District I Directors, Mr. Adeshina, said the award indicated that people from all walks of life monitor the district's successes in recent times adding that it would spur her team and her to better their best.
