Lagos Assembly Commends Hon. Johnson Babatunde Over Laudable Project In Orile Agege

The Chairman of Orilẹ-Agege Local Council Development Area, Hon. Johnson Sunday Babatunde has again received commendation from Lagos State House of Assembly, Tuesday, 10th of September, 2024 for his laudable projects and service delivery to the people.

Hon. Ganiyu Sanni, the Chairman of the House Committee on Local Government Administration, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development who led the team said they have heard a lot about the achievements of the administration of Hon. Johnson Babatunde in Orilẹ-Agege and they came to see what he has done for themselves. He appreciated the Chairman and his team for being committed to making the residents of Orilẹ-Agege feel the impact of government in the LCDA by touching the health sector, education sector, empowering residents to improve the economy of the LCDA, working on improving the security of the LCDA amongst other laudable projects the administration has embarked on.


He however, encouraged the Chairman not to relent in his efforts to better the lives of the residents of the LCDA.


The Council Chairman while responding to Hon.Ganiyu appreciated the House Committee on Local Government Administration for paying a working visit to the LCDA to monitor if the residents are feeling the impact of government through the LCDA.


He assured that his administration would not rest on its oars but would continue to do more for it's people.


He also appreciated the Federal Government for  Local Government Autonomy that has been approved and also thanked the  Governor of Lagos State and his entire cabinet for the support being given to the  20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas in the state. He emphasized that without such support, it would be impossible for them to achieve any thing.


During the visit, the House Committee and the Chairman inspected some of the projects which include the Claudina Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu Primary Health Centre, Orilẹ-Agege Community Junior High School, Eko Junior College, amongst others.


Also present at the event were Hon. Jubril Ayodeji Abdulkareem, Hon. Kehinde Olaide and other members of the House Committee on Local Government Administration; the Leader of Orilẹ-Agege Legislative House, Hon. Fayemi Adewale and other Legislative members; The Secretary to the Local Government, Mr. James Agboola; The Council Manager, Dr Adekoya Adesanya and other management staff of the LCDA, the Supervisors and Special Advisers amongst others.

Hon. Johnson Babatunde Donates Over 30,000 Writing Materials To Enhance Learning in Orile Agege Public Primary Schools



Executive Chairman of Orile Agege LCDA, Hon. Sunday Johnson Babatunde has today donated over 30,000 Exercise books and other writing materials to all public primary schools pupils in the council area to enhance their learning capacity.


The Council Boss, fondly called Mr. PROJECT flagged off the distribution of the exercise books and other writing materials to the School Pupils.



While addressing the gathering at the inauguration, Sunday Babatunde said the Council decided to dole out the materials to the pupils to bring relief to the parents.


”We shall continue to bring educational development to our Council Area. Orile Agege LCDA shall continue to build, rebuild and restore the Local Council Development Area until it gets to enviable height.


”Our Administration is leaving a legacy that whoever is coming after us can have a good standing to build more for the Council area. The upcoming Administration just need to be maintaining the structures we have erected in all our public primary schools,” he said.


On the same vein, Education Secretary, Local Government Education Authority, Agege, Mrs Catherine Ogunyomi thanked the Chairman for investing in the education. She lauded the achievement of Orile Agege Council boss for constructing several buildings in all Public Primary Schools in Orile Agege.


Meanwhile, Headteacher of Shiloh Primary School, Mrs Osanyintola Moboluwaji, Agbeke also thanked the chairman for taking the burden of the parents away by providing writing materials for the pupils.


Babatunde later promised that his administration will not relent in the transformation of Public Primary Schools within the Council Area.


The distribution took place in St. Peters school complex, Okusanya School complex amongst others.

“To whom much is given, much is expected” you all have placed your trust in me, I promise never to let you down.


The Executive Chairman of Orile Agege LCDA, Hon. Johnson  Babatunde has reassured the good people of Orile Agege of his commitment towards the modernisation of the LCDA.


Mr. Project disclosed this in a media broadcast share to newsmen in Orile Agege LCDA in Lagos.


"I thank you all for giving me the opportunity to steer the ship of this great LCDA once again as you all have come en masse to vote me back to the office as the Council Mayor in order to consolidate on what we have achieved so far. Seeking re-election back to the office I promise to do more and better in this new dispensation if re-elected. since you have made that possible for I will not disappoint you.



"In this new dispensation, we are looking forward to improving the lifestyle of the people through meaningful empowerment as we have done earlier in our previous administration where over 500 residents were beneficiaries of N100,000 each in our quarterly empowerment program.


"Widows and the less privileged were also not left out as we engage in the Monthly Distribution of Food Items in order to ease hunger among them. We also bought 19 Mini busses (korope) for unemployed youth who were selected systematically across the 6 wards of the LCDA. As a Government, we are consolidating on what we have achieved so far on empowerment and we promise to do more. 


We are going on a pace that will be higher than that of our first term on Road and Infrastructure where we embarked on so many Construction and Rehabilitation of Toads and Drainages within the LCDA in order to make life much easier for the people of this LCDA.


"Upon resumption, in office, we will not rest on our oars but be too swift to action by completing our Ongoing Projects and embark on New Projects which will be ready for commission before our first 100 days in office. We will be commissioning not less than 12 projects across all sectors in our first 100 days.


"On Education, we are going to make schools in this LCDA a model for others to follow as it’s our responsibility to ensure pupils have a conducive place to learn. In our first term in office, we embark on the transformation of dilapidated schools within the LCDA such as the Rehabilitation of Zion African Church Primary School, Ideal Primary School, 1 Block of 4 Classrooms at Girls High School, 1 Block of 6 Classrooms at Government Comprehensive Junior College. We also have ongoing projects at Oyewole Primary School Complex, State High School Oyewole.


"My appreciation goes to residents and indigenes of Orile Agege for making us have a peaceful reign in our first term in office and also relying on your unflinching support in the days ahead by ensuring you pay all taxes and levies as at when due because we are going to make judicious use of your money for the development of Orile Agege and also detest the vandalization of public properties". Said, the council Mayor.

JS Babatunde To Employ 600 Youths Through N50m Agricultural Projects In Orile Agege | AgegePulse Magazine

 


The Executive Chairman, Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos State,  Johnson Babatunde, has vowed that the council has projected about N50 million agricultural projects for 600 youths.

Babatunde fielding AgegePulse and a other Newsmen recently stated that the project would create jobs for unemployed youths in the area.


He said his plan was to establish “Orile-Agege Village’’ in the neighbouring state where no fewer than 600 youths from the LCDA would be empowered in the agriculture sector.


According to him, the project will involve cash and arable crops and poultry farming, while some sectors will focus on livestock production.


“This development will force the food price to go down, as things are costly nowadays, because we have failed to do the needful.


“If our leaders can rise up to their responsibilities, the cost of living will be reduced,” Babatunde said.


The council chief said he planned to engage youths from Orile-Agege in the agricultural projects, with 100 youths per ward in the LCDA and empower them in “Orile Agege Village”.


He said, “If from LCDA, I can get N50 million for them to start the projects with proper supervision, I think it will open our eyes, and the development will go a long way to help youths and the economy at large.”


Babatunde said that youths involved would be able to access some external financial facilities from Agricultural Development Bank, Bank of Industry and Central Bank of Nigeria.


The chairman also said the project would go a long way in helping interested youths to become self-reliance, assist economy of the village and major towns through sales of the farm produces.


“Through this project, the village involve will be developed socially and economically,’’ the chairman said.


He said further that agricultural project would focus on poultry feed through large cultivation of maize and other crops use for livestock feeds.


“Very soon, this project will start yielding positive result; we must be selfless in serving the people and, youths, especially must not be neglected in any society,” JS Babatunde advised.

The Executuve Chairman of Orile Agege Local Council Development Area, Hon. Johnson Sunday Babatunde has reiterated that he would stop at nothing to ensure that the standard of living of Orile Agege people is drastically improved across all sectors under his watch.

Hon. Babatunde stated this at the official handing over of Utility Buses to Orile Agege Stakeholders' Executives cum Empowerment of Youths and Distribution of Foodstuff to widows at the council's secretariat in Orile Agege.


Also, the council boss presented 20 youths with N100,000 each and 60 widows with foodstuff and cash as part of his empowerment programme, urging them to engage in petty trading that would improve quality of their living.

According to the Chairman, "this event is a continuation of our mission to restore and rebuild Orile Agege. This initiavte will be a monthly activity in order to reach all the nooks and crannies of Orile Agege LCDA."

"The utility buses are necessary for smooth execution of official tasks while the empowerment is to compliment the physical infrastructures we are putting in place across the council." Hon Babatunde noted.

Beneficiaries of the gesture include the CDC Exco, Muslim Council, Orile Agege, Christian Association of Nigeria, Orile Agege branch, Oba in Council and Market Executives.

Speaking with AgegePulse, some of the beneficiaries thanked the Executive Chairman and his team for their quality leadership style aimed towards the well-being of people under his jurisdiction.

Dignitaries at the event included, the Vice Chairman of Orile Agege, Leader of House, Councilors, Managment Staff, Royal Fathers , Baales, Chiefs, Exco members, APC Party Leaders, Members of Management, NULGE Reps and the entire Staff of Orile Agege LCDA.

The Iyaloja General and Erelu of Orile Agege Kingdom, Chief Mrs. Bola Orelaru has hailed the Executive Chairman of Orile Agege Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Johnson Sunday Babatunde over the distribution of utility buses to market executives and other stakeholders in the council.

Speaking with AgegePulse, Chief Orelaru acknowledged the tremendous works towards rebuilding and restoring the glory of Orile Agege.


The Erelu of Orile Agege expressed her gratitude to  the council boss for fulfilling his campaign promises to the market men and women by providing them with a new utility vehicle for their activities.


She said the kind gesture will go a long way to ease the hurdles of swift mobility that the executives have been experiencing for the past 15years.

In her usual appreciation style, the Iyaloja on behalf of herself and entire market women and men thanked the Chairman, council management, leaders of the house,  legislators and the leadership of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Orile Agege for fielding a competent candidate with exemplary leadership qualities.
