ORILE AGEGE LCDA RECEIVES LAGOS STATE LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICE COMMISSION(LGSC) OFFICIALS

The Executive Chairman of Orile-Agege LCDA, Hon Johnson Sunday Babatunde,  who was ably represented by the Vice Chairman,  Hon. Kafilat Oluwatoyin Pedro-Akanni, the executive team, the management team, and the entire workforce of Orile Agege LCDA received officials from the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission(LGSC) on Thursday, 10th of April, 2025.

The Vice Chairman, while welcoming the officials from LGSC, appreciated them for always coming to check on the LCDA to see the progress been made and also give words of advice on how things can be improved.


The Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission,  Hon. Kamal Ayinde Bayewu, who was ably represented by Hon Hakeem Adisa Bamgbala(Commissioner representing Lagos Division), while addressing the gathering, appreciated the Chairman and his team for performing excellently well.


He also appreciated the entire workforce for cooperating with the Chairman and his team to achieve the laudable landmark.


Hon Taofeek Adaranijo, the commissioner representing Ikeja Division, also appreciated the Chairman and also the executive, management, and entire workforce for the cooperation, which has given birth to continuous development in the LCDA,which makes it one of the best in the state.


The Permanent Secretary, Mrs Abosede George, who was represented by Mrs Omobolanle Ajayi, Director, Admin and HR, congratulated all the members of staff that participated in the promotion exercise as their letters would soon be out. She also appealed to the workforce to be conversant with the Public Service Rules and the way official memos are written as any memo not properly addressed and relevant documents attached to it would not be attended to. She also said that officers who performed outstandingly well would be appreciated this year.


The Permanent Secretary, Establishment and Training, Mrs Bibilomo  ably represented by Mrs Adegun, admonished members of staff to develop themselves and also see it as a duty to attend the webinars organised by the Commission. She also said that the ICT unit should create an avenue where members of staff would learn how to use the computer effectively and efficiently as very soon, officers' knowledge of the use of technology would be tested and also those who are attending courses at PSSDC would be required to do a Computer Based Test.


Delivering the vote of thanks, the Council Manager, Dr Adekoya Adesanya expressed appreciation to the Commission for the visit, noting that the Local Council Development Area would remain committed in Service delivery and  continued staff development especially in the areas of Information Technology which the Executive Chairman also has great interest with his numerous unwavering support.


Also present at the event were members of the Executive team, led by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Kafilat Oluwatoyin Pedro-Akanni; the legislative team, management team,  led by the Council Manager, Dr Adekoya Adesanya; other officials from LGSC, the NULGE Executives and the entire workforce of Orile Agege LCDA

Capacity Building: Orile Agege LCDA Organises Training For Staff

The Chairman of Orile-Agege LCDA, Hon Johnson Sunday Babatunde organised a one day training tagged *Clinical Aspect of SPADEV/Capacity Building* for the workforce of Orile-Agege LCDA today, Thursday, August 8, 2024 at the LCDA 's secretariat.

The facilitators of the training, Mr Okedara and Mrs Seriki from the Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation (OTCI) enlightened those in attendance on how to set SMART(Specific Measurable, Achievable, Reliable/Relevant and Time bound) goals and how to make sure that such goals are achieved within the time frame.

They also spoke on the need for the top line officers to give specific and detailed duties to the down line officers putting into consideration the strength and weaknesses of such officers.


The facilitators also opined that the down line officers too should tell the top line officers the difficulties they are facing, which might delay or prevent them from  achieving task(s) given/set for them.


They also emphasised that each member of staff must have specific job roles so that there would be accountability and feedbacks.


The facilitators further spoke on how the Staff Performance Appraisal Development (SPADEV) forms should be filled. 

They said “SPADEV is not just meant for the purpose of promotion as erroneously believed, but should reflect the true assessment of each member of staff as this would give room for encouragement or improvement where needed.”


The Chairman in his address to members of staff towards the end of the training programme assured that trainings and seminars would continuously be organised for the workforce to improve the quality of service delivery in Orile-Agege LCDA and Lagos state in general.


The Human Resource Director,Mr Jubril Olusegun Aliu appreciated the Executive Chairman for his continued support towards staff welfare and assured him of staff’s unalloyed commitment to the development of Orile Agege LCDA.


Others in attendance were the Vice Chairman,Council Manager,Management team and member of staff.

ORILE AGEGE LCDA MARKS WORLD ORAL HEALTH DAY.

Nigerian Dental Therapy Association (Lagos State Chapter), in collaboration with  Orile-Agege LCDA, hosted a successful free dental outreach for residents in the community today, Thursday, 21st March, 2023. 


The event took place at  Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwoolu Primary Health Centre where more than 50 residents of  Orile-Agege Community received complimentary oral health talks, dental checkups, scaling and polishing services amongst others to commemorate the World oral health day.


It is a day observed annually and dedicated to raising global awareness on the issues around oral hygiene, so that governments, health associations and the general public can work together to achieve healthier mouth and happier citizens. 


This years' campaign is themed. " A happy mouth is a happy body"  . Highlighting the intricate relation between oral health and overall well being,  this campaign is all about following dental hygiene rules to avoid diseases as prioritising oral health leads to better health.

Orile Agege LCDA Chairman, Hon. JS Babatunde presents ₦4.9B Budget Of Progress

The Executive Chairman of Orile Agege LCDA, Hon Sunday Johnson Babatunde  has presented 2024 Appropriation Bill worth 4,968,150,592 to the Legislative Arm of the Council.

At the event which took place at the Legislative Chamber, Hon. Johnson Babatunde stated that the ”Budget of progress” is put together to fulfil the promises of giving the dividends of democracy to the residents of Orile Agege.


He said,” For the year 2024, the LCDA has projected a proposed budget size of ₦4,968,150,592"


"There are various revenue sources accruing to the council within the year. For Federation Allocation, A total sum of ₦1, 826.323,578.77 which amount to 37% of the proposed total Budget size. For the Value Added Tax ,VAT, a total sum of ₦2,972,227,012.93 was proposed.



” On Internally Generated Revenue, 3% of the total budget size has been proposed with a total sum of ₦169.600,000 which is sub-divided into Stated Assisted Tax, Local Council Internally Generated Revenue.”


On the other hand, the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Wale Fayemi commended the Council Chairman for his commitment and enthusiasm in making the lives of the residents and staffers better.


Fayemi noted that the councillors will continue to support the executive arm but each Departmental Head should be prepared to defend whatever is allotted to the department as previous excuses of non-appearance will not be tolerated.



”Let me assure the Executive Chairman of the commitment of every member of this House to support whatever that will make this government succeed. As a result, we will immediately swing to action and make sure the budget is approved within the shortest time possible.


See ”That Notwithstanding will stop us from deeply scrutinizing the budget and making amends where necessary. Each department Head should be prepared to defend whatever is alloted to the department, as previous excuses of non=appearance will not be tolerated,” He said.

J.S Babatunde Flags Off Pediatrics Care Week



In a bid to address the issue of inadequate health care attention for children and pregnant women under his jurisdiction, the Executive Chairman of Orile Agege LCDA, Mr. Johnson Sunday Babatunde has began the second phase of the Maternal Newborn and Child Health Week.




The initiative which is regarded as first of its kind in the LCDA attracted infants, nursing mothers and pregnant women across the council.

As a clear sign that the well being and survival of the weak vessels is paramount to the Chairman, the initiative is already being twice within four months of his assumption into office.

J.S Babatunde, Vice- Chairman, Mrs Oluwatoyin Akanni-Pedro, Secretary to the LCDA, Mr James  Agboola, Supervisors, several health workers and other dignitaries across the area thronged Odunmbaku Public Health Centre in Orile - Agege LCDA yesterday to declare the one-week-long and all-encompassing pediatrics care exercise open.

It started with demonstration of Hand Washing by Environmental Health Officers to mothers before the Wife of the Executive Chairman, Mrs Mojisola Babatunde administered Vitamin-A on the children. Subsequently, mosquito nets and hygiene packs were given to the women.

Agege Pulse learnt that within the one week duration of this programme, pregnant women, nursing mothers and their babies will get attention in different areas ranging from  Malnutrition Screening, Deworming Exercise, Polio Immunization, IPT for malaria in Pregnancy and Family Planning.

Also,  it was gathered that the exercise will be carried out in all the four (4) Primary Health Centers in Orile - Agege, Lagos State.

Speaking at the flag off, Mr Babatunde urged mothers to give utmost attention to immunizing their children in order to prevent life threatening diseases adding that it's imperative for pregnant mothers to take adequate care of themselves and their unborn babies.
