The Lagos State Joint Campus Committee (JCC) of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, has made the Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government, Alhaji Ganiyu Kola Egunjobi its Patron at a colourful investiture ceremony.

The event, which was held alongside the association’s inauguration of its new Exco took place on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Lagos State University (LASU) campus.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were: the Vice-chairman of the Council, Prince Abiodun Ogunji, who represented the recipient, and LASU’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor Olumuyiwa Noah, who delivered a lecture about monetization of student unionism in contemporary times.

Also speaking, the now-immediate past Chairman of the JCC, Comrade Samson Moses, in his address, said Egunjobi, who is Director, Directorate for CSOs, NGOs, & Students of Babajide Sanwoolu Campaign Organisation, was deserving of the honour conferred on him, adding that the council chief has been supporting the State student body in no small way.

In his own remark, the newly sworn-in NANS JCC Chairman, Comrade Busari Abdulqowiyu, pleaded to Egunjobi not to abandon the association at this juncture but continue to provide financial and sundry supports to it.

Comrade Busari reiterated that the entire Lagos State Students were solidly behind the candidacy of the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

In the acceptance speech delivered on behalf of the Patron, Prince Abiodun Ogunji praised the students for deeming his boss worthy of the honour. He advised them to remain united and be committed to selfless service. Prince Ogunji urged the students to rally supports for Sanwo-Olu’s candidature and ensure that the APC candidate wins by a landslide.
