"You do this in conjunction with the executive and judiciary.
You are one of the best Speakers of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

He also made reference to the stakeholders meeting held annually by the House, adding that this had never happened in the country and that others have copied it.
"Whatever happens outside does not concern us because you are doing well. We are solidly behind you, we pray that you will end your tenure well," he said.
This was corroborated by Hon. Nurein Akinsanya, (Mushin 1), who described Obasa as a boss, who he said could not be compared with any other lawmaker in the Assembly.
He urged him to continue to rule the House "because you are treating us well. You are not money conscious. I will like to support the motion that you should go on with your good works."
Hon. Victor Akande (Ojo 1) said that he was a living witness to the leadership style and wisdom of the Speaker.
"When we came here in the 8th Assembly, seven out of eight PDP lawmakers joined you because of your style.
"For being an embodiment of knowledge, I say thank you. During the primaries, you called all of us individually as a good leader and father.
"You are a selfless leader and a man of unflinching dexterity.
"You are the only man that allows live streaming of the proceedings of the House. You have my support," he said.

"You are a selfless man as you ensure that you defended the autonomy of both the legislature and the judiciary.
"You even discussed this with President Muhammadu Buhari. You are a self made man, you are a selfless man and a great man," he stated.
Other lawmakers also spoke on the matter and eulogised Speaker Obasa for his leadership style.
Responding, Speaker Mudashiru Obasa thanked the members for their comments.
Obasa stressed that all what the lawmakers had said would not have been possible without their support.
"You have been able to sustain the House as being above common standard of excellence.
"In the past, people used to come to the Assembly once, but now people have been coming twice, three times, four times and even five times.
"It means we have all been doing well which is why people have been returning us.
"We have contributed a lot to the the development of democracy. I want to urge you all to continue to do your best for the state," he said.

WE GET OUR VICTIMS ON SOCIAL MEDIA" – ROBBERY SUSPECTS WHO JUST RETURN FROM SOUTH AFRICA
AgegePulse Magazine
Two suspected robbers, who lured a computer dealer to a desolate location and dispossessed him of 3 Apple laptops valued at N1.5 million, at gun point have been arrested by the operatives of the Lagos Rapid Response Squad.
The suspects, Victor Remi (27), a forex trader and Ekeh Maxwell, 23, a musician, were arrested on Monday, weeks after their heist.
The suspects, both residents of 18, Alexandra Street, Abule Egba, Lagos, disclosed that they got all the details of their victim through his twitter handle.
They added that they opened up conversation with him immediately and placed an order for two Apple laptops (MacBook Pro – 2018 edition).
According to Remi, a South Africa returnee, “I told the dealer I was the Managing Director of a new company in Acme Road, Ikeja. I also told him that my daughter recommended him and that his laptops are legit. I ordered one for myself and another for my secretary.
It took us a week to initiate, perfect our plan and execute it. My colleague, Maxwell borrowed his brother’s Camry (FKJ 833 EZ) for the deed. We bought a toy gun and painted it. I controlled the dealer to Acme Crescent because we knew the location was a desolate area”.
He continued; “while Maxwell drove, I whatsapped the dealer that he brings the consignment to my office. I told him that my driver would pick him up at Acme Crescent.
We met him there. He entered the vehicle while the driver picked me up few meters from where he entered. He was sitting in front with the laptops. I placed the gun on his neck and ordered him to surrender them. We wanted to take his phone too but he pleaded not to be stripped of everything. We told him to alight from the car and we escaped”.
Sources disclosed that Remi told his accomplice that the three Apple laptops were two instead of three. The source added that Remi lied to his partner that he sold each of the two laptops, N250,000 each instead of the N500,000:00 their original market value which he sold them. “He gave Maxwell N250,000:00”, he added. The suspect confirmed this to our reporter, when questioned.
According to the computer dealer, who does not want his name in print, “one Uche ordered for two Apple laptops. We were communicated on WhatsApp. I never had an inkling that they were robbers. They used a gun and knife to dispossess me of the laptops. The three laptops are worth N1.5 million”.
The three Apple laptops have so far been recovered from their buyers while they reportedly threw away the toy gun after the operation.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Zubairu Muazu in his reaction to the arrest of the suspects advised Lagosians to moderate the amount of information they expose publicly through the social media, adding that criminal minded elements are exploiting the social media to perpetrate crime. He restated the commitment of the Command to remain unrelenting in the pursuit of criminals in the state.

Lagos State Government on Friday read the riot act to residents and property owners in the state who have built on the Right of Way of various drainage channels in the state to remove such properties immediately or have them removed by agents of the state government.
In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Drainage and Water Resources, Engineer Joe Igbokwe, the State Government warns that the several efforts it is making in ensuring free flow of water is being hampered by the activities of several individuals who have built across drainage channels thus causing flooding.
He cited the specific example of Bayo Osinowo street near China Town Unit system as one of such flagrant disregard for the state drainage masterplan, stressing that all the structures on that corridor are illegal structures obstructing the free flow of water in the China Town Drainage system and must go.
Igbokwe said severally, the property owners in the area have been served with contravention notices by the state government, but they have been recalcitrant and have even gone a step further by resorting to self help all in the quest to gain public sympathy.
He described the hiring of a buggy by some of the residents of Bayo Osinowo street in China Town to clear the canal in what they term as “self help” amidst media blitz as an exercise in futility, self serving and cosmetics, stating that all the structures as presently constructed on that street are on the RIght of Way of the China Town alignment, constituting the major impediment to free flow of water from the drains.
The Special Adviser maintained that this warning will serve as a final notice to residents of all such areas where permanent structures have been erected on the Right of Way of various channels and canals to remove all such structures immediately or have them removed by the state.
He reiterated the commitment of the present administration to safety of lives and properties of every resident, adding that the government will not fold its arms and allow the activities of a few selfish and lawless individuals to put the lives of millions of law abiding citizens in peril.
He emphasized that the state continues to deploy more men to the various locations in the state where it’s flood abatement gangs are operating to compliment the efforts of the main contractor that is saddled with the task of cleaning up all the drainage channels in the state.

A federal high court in Abuja on Friday granted a N100 million bail to Omoyele Sowore, convener of #RevolutionNow Movement.
Sowore has been in custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since August 3 when he was arrested in Lagos.
A court had earlier granted him bail but the secret police refused to release him while he was arraigned on September 30, alongside Olawale Bakare, his co-defendant, on a 7-count charge of felony brought against him by the federal government.
At the court on Friday, Ijeoma Ojukwu, the presiding judge, held that the prosecution failed to show good reasons why the defendants should not be granted bail since the offences are bailable.
The judge also granted a N50 million bail to Bakare. She restricted Sowore from speaking with journalists and travelling outside Abuja.
The judge ordered Sowore to produce two sureties in like sum, one who must deposit N50m to the court pending the determination of the case.
She said all sureties must be resident in Abuja, must show proof of tax clearance from 2016 to 2018 and must deposit original documents of landed properties in Abuja.
Earlier, while opposing the bail application, Hassan Liman, counsel to the federal government, urged the court to dismiss the request for bail, saying the defendants have demonstrated the likelihood of committing the same offences.
“The first defendant while being taken away from the court on Monday was seen chanting revolution, it is time for us to do it,” Liman said.
Juxtaposing Sowore’s case with that of the case of Asari Dokubo who was denied bail by the supreme court , Liman said offences threatening national security “such as this” should be handled with caution.
He also asked the court to take judicial notice of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the indigenous people of biafra (IPOB), who jumped bail.
Femi Falana, counsel to the defendants, prayed the court to allow bail on grounds that the defendants have never been found guilty of committing any offence before.
He said the use of the word “revolution” is not a criminal offense. Quoting the supreme court, he defined revolution as “the overthrow of one class by the other”.
Falana further pointed out that President Muhammadu Buhari also called for a revolution in 2003 and 2011 respectively after he lost the presidential election.
He argued that the first defendant(Sowore) has never called for a violent protest.
Addressing the second charge which bothered on insulting the president, the senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) said “under the current constitutional dispensation, no public officer in Nigeria is permitted to use the machinery of the state to settle scores with his opponent”
He said the constitution guarantees freedom of speech, which includes freedom to criticise and that government officials should be open to criticism.
Responding to the case of Dokubo raised by the opposition, Falana said Dokubo was not granted bail because he admitted to blowing pipes in the Niger Delta.
He assured the court that his clients would not cause any trouble if they are granted bail.
The case has been adjourned till November 6, 2019.

How RRS Arrested Five Real Estate Scammers
AgegePulse Magazine
A five-member gang of real estate scammers, who were about to fraudulently lease out someone else's duplex in Lekki Phase 2 to a house seeker for a sum of N4.5 million were on Wednesday, arrested by the operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) at the point of exchange of money and keys.
The gang, which consist of; Abolade Oladimeji (43), Ademola Ayo (45), Emmanuel Fabiyi (65), Ademola Hakeem (49) and Sunday Ayodele 52-years were arrested in Lekki Phase 2, after almost sealing the deal for the leasing of someone else’s duplex to one Mr. Obi (not real name).
The suspects all of whom are real estate agents living in border towns of Lagos and Ogun had pretended to be agent of the duplex. To expand their dragnet, the suspects had advertised the property on jiji.com with a total lease package for a year put at N4.5 million.
According to the leader of the gang, Ademola Hakeem, he had been using his knowledge of computer to post for sale and lease on various websites non-existing landed property, apartments and buildings. He added that they lure unsuspecting publics with attractive prices.
In his confessional statement to the police, Hakeem disclosed that in early September, he posted a vacancy of a 4-bedroom duplex in Lekki Phase 2 which attracted so many people amongst whom was one Mr. Obi.
“Immediately he called me through the contact on the advertisement, I knew he was genuine. I mobilized my colleagues and allocated roles to each of them to make the deal seamless. Abolade Oladimeji conducted himself as the estate lawyer. He discussed at length with our client on the legal angle as well as visitation before payment”, he stated.
“Ademola Ayo was in charge of taking client on house or land inspection. Emmanuel Fabiyi, the eldest among the team played the role of a principal agent and sometimes acted as site engineer while Sunday Ayodele assisted Fabiyi to make him look like a big man who is well groomed and seasoned in the business”, he explained.
“After the inspection, Mr Obi requested to pay us with a cheque. Initially, we rejected as our mode of payment is through bank transfer. This is to avoid too much contact as we have dedicated account owners who connive with various teams of fraud syndicates that receive deposits into their accounts and collect 30% of the proceed. After much deliberation on the mode of payment, we agreed to collect the cheque.”
According to sources, Obi was trying to dot the i’s and cross the t’s of the lease when along the line he suspected something fishy. “He did a little research which took him to the real landlord of the estate. Together, they played along with the fraudsters while a police team was briefed on the development”, the source added.
It was further revealed that the Decoy Team of the RRS ambushed the fraudsters and arrested the five of them at the various positions at the venue of cheque collection in Lekki Phase 2.
According to Emmanuel Fabiyi, popularly called Baba, “my age has been so instrumental in the various scams we’ve perpetrated. Unsuspecting victims get convinced that a man of my age wouldn’t be a scammer. This make them want to do business with us and part with their hard earned money for land purchases, rent or lease of properties”.
Baba disclosed that the police made them repay N3.2 million in one of their recent scams. He added that the gang had been involved in many successful property scams both in Lagos and Ogun State.
While pleading never to return to business if allowed to go, he stated that his family had warned him not to get involved in any fraudulent deals again. He lamented being a disgrace to his wife and children as a father.
“Am a shame to my family as an elder in church and a grandpa. My children warned me to desist from fraud after I was arrested last year but I didn’t listen to them”, he stated.
He added that the N4.5 million was to be shared in the following manner; “the account owner collects 30%, Hakeem, the bringer of the deal collects 30%, Abolade 10%, Ayo, 10%, Baba, 20% and shares 5% with Sunday Ayodele.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Zubairu Muazu while reacting to the incident advised Lagosians to be more careful while dealing with estate/property agents and always request to see the owner of the property, and also verify his/her identity before parting with their hard earned money
LADY WHO SURVIVED TRAFFICKING AND LABOR ABUSE WARN GIRLS ABOUT TRAVELING TO OMAN FOR JOBS
25 years old Oyinlola Solanke is a survivor of human trafficking to Oman.
After surviving the hard labour she was put through as a maid, the mother of two who hold a diploma in Local government studies from Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, is now a humanitarian personnel and an activist against any form of trafficking.
She shared her story stating that she had to fake her fathers death in order to be allowed back home in Nigeria.
Solanke tells her story
“I am a survivor of human trafficking. Sometime ago, last year in April, I had some personal issues with the father of my children. I didn’t have a job at that moment.
I kept complaining to his family that he was not being responsible. He was not helping me out with the two children I have and it was so hard taking care of them alone since I don’t have a job. I used to live with my mum with the two children, so I called him for us to get an apartment in Ibadan so that we can stay together. He agreed but few weeks before the time we were supposed to move to Ibadan, he called that he got a job in Lagos. I asked him ‘what about us? He said that he does not care. I insisted that I will come to Lagos to see the job and I found out that he works for his cousin’s husband.
That was my first time of meeting his cousin and I decided to confide in her. I told her to help talk to him to be more responsible towards his children. During the conversation the fact that I don’t have a job came up and she told me that her younger sister is in Dubai working. Then she said that her sister told her that there is an opportunity to work in Dubai. I agreed.
At first they did not tell me the nature of the job. All they said was that I should send the data page of my passport and at that time, my passport had expired. I had to renew my passport and there was no money for that. I borrowed the money to renew my passport and I also had to do a police report. When I went to do the police report, I filled in Dubai as the destination I was going to because that was the country they kept mentioning to me. Till that time, they have not told me the nature of the job. After I sent the data page of my passport to them, within three days, the visa came out. When I told the lady in Dubai that my police report is ready, that was when she asked me where I filled as my destination, I told her I filled Dubai. She told me no, that the place I am going is not that far from Dubai that it is more like from Lagos to Abuja.”
“Not knowing she was just trying to trick me. The place that they were sending me was Oman. Oman is a different country even though it is not far from Dubai. I had to borrow money again to do another police report to correct it to Oman. They sent me my ticket any by the time the visa was out, that was when I found out that I was going to be working as a maid for a family. I was a bit reluctant. When I went to tell the cousin to the father of my kids, she was angry with me. She said that she has heard so much about me that I am a proud person. That I don’t have a job and I am being picky. That was when I decided to change my mind. I wanted to still be with the father of my kids and I didn’t want to have problems with the family. So I agreed and traveled. I had a few hitches in Kenya airport which delayed me.
when I got to Oman, I got to understand that the lady that sent me there asked the family for money for me to renew my passport which she never gave me and she was demanding I pay her all she spent for the visa including that of the passport renewal. The family I was to work for insisted that they will collect my passport and I refused. I told them I paid for my passport myself, that was when they told me that they paid for that too through the woman and she never told me. At first when I got to the family I was to work for, I was ok. They were nice. But the labour was just too much. I felt that as a maid, it is normal to go through labour abuse; I mean you are there to serve them. I wake up 5am and work, work that most times I forget to eat. I sleep like past midnight or 1am and I am still going to wake up at 5am again.”
Solanke explained that though she was given time to rest but the work load is too much for just one person. Her biggest fear started when the man of the house started making advances towards her.
“Sometimes I rest but when the work is just too much, the time they give me to sleep will pass and I am still working. I always tell them in Nigeria that I am fine. I always console myself because of my two kids because nothing good comes easy. The time I started having problems and I decided that I was going to come back was when my boss started disturbing me for sex. He would come to my room every night trying to have sex with me. I always battle with him, it becomes a fight. The only thing that helped me was that his wife was a full time house wife. It is only the little times she goes out to go get groceries or to greet her family that he would come and meet me. if the wife was a working class, I am very sure he would have succeeded. There was a time he hit me and my face was swollen. The wife asked me, I had to lie that I hit my face with fear that if I tell her, it would have been my words against his. I sent the pictures of my swollen face to Aunty Kehinde Okoroafor in Nigeria. Because of my boss constant barging into my room to try to have sex with me, I made up my mind that I don’t want to stay anymore. I called my family but there was nothing they could do. I contacted Mrs. Kehinde Okoroafor and she started paying attention to me. She called me every day to find out how I was doing. I had to plan with my friends. I sent a message to Efe Smith, a guitarist and told him to send a message to me the following day at 7pm to tell me that my dad is gone. I told him to act like he is my brother. I started telling all my friends to start pretending that I had lost my dad. They day I got the message, I pretended and started crying. I told them to give me my passport that I have to go to Nigeria. I said that I need to send my data page for my family to pay for my ticket back home.”
Solanke confirmed that if not for these staged acting, they would not have allowed her to come back home.
“No way. It is a contract and they will tell you that they have paid for your life and you cannot go until two year. At that time, I had stayed over six months. I already know that if you stay six months, you have paid of whatever money they spent on you. Before I left Nigeria, they told me that my salary would be 150,000 but when I got to Oman, what they paid me was 70 Omani Rial. In Naira, it’s not up to N70,000 monthly. I went through a lot. At the time I was faking the death of my dad, I could not eat or sleep. I lived in fear. Few weeks before I came back to Nigeria, I used to sleep in the bathroom because that was the only place where I was safe.
“The wife of my boss does not allow me to lock the door of my room. I can only close it. They too do not lock their room. They have this mentality that someone can die in their sleep and they won’t be able to open the door. Locking the do would have been the best way to keep the man away, since I could not do that, I started sleeping in the bathroom which was the only place I could lock up because he was always coming to me every night. I slept in that bathroom for weeks, sometimes I don’t even sleep. I will sit on the WC till morning. Sometimes I will be chatting with Mrs Kehinde and she would cry on the phone with me. When they allowed me to go, they said I have to book my ticket myself. Aunty Kehinde had to raise a campaign for me. The campaign was ‘Please help Oyinlola Get Back To Nigeria’. Many though it was a scam when she posted on facebook. Many helped out; some gave all they had in their account to help me. When my mum’s brothers finally booked my ticket, I told aunty Kehinde that we would return the money of many that helped. I saw the screenshot of someone that had only N5,000 in their account and donated N4,000. My coming back was just God’s intervention. I didn’t even allow my boss take me to the airport because I was afraid they can do something to me. At the airport I even saw a lady that spent only six days in Oman. She could not stand the labour.”
Solanke has been using her story to stop young girls in search of a better job abroad from travelling to Oman.
She stated that she will be launching a walk against human trafficking and labour soon to create awareness about the risks.
She also noted that Information reaching her suggests that many women and girls are moving from Ibadan, Osun state to Oman without knowing what they are going there to face there.

25-year-old woman sells her three kids for N500,000
A 25-year-old woman, Blessing Stephen, has confessed to trading all her three kids for N500,000.
Stephen was a member of a child trafficking syndicate recently smashed by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team.
Other arrested members of the syndicate are a self-acclaimed doctor, Una Godwin 58; Blessing John 27; Israel Ariyo 33; Itoro Anthony; 40 and Mforbong Ntoro, 48.
The operatives had launched a manhunt for one of the suspects, John, who abandoned a four-year-old boy in a church in the Ketu area of the state.
John was said to have abducted the boy, Ojo, at Ikota Housing Estate in Ajah sometime July 2019 and sold him in Akwa Ibom State to Ntoro for N350,000.
AgegePulse Magazine learnt that Ntoro’s neighbours were alarmed by Ojo’s incessant cries and became suspicious, which forced the woman to return the child to John, asking her to get a baby as replacement.
John reportedly brought Ojo back to Lagos and abandoned him inside the church located along the road on the pretext that she wanted to pick some loads on the other side of the road.
Our correspondent learnt that the church reported the incident at the Ketu Police Station and the boy was later reunited with his parents.
Consequently, a petition was addressed to the IRT to fish out the suspect.
The team tracked down John a few weeks ago in Ibadan, Oyo State, and she led them to arrest her accomplices, Stephen and Ntoro.
She told the police that it was hardship that made her to engage in child trafficking, adding that she needed money to treat an ailment she was battling with.
John said, “I did an abortion which backfired. I had a surgery and needed money to continue treatment. I contacted my friend, Blessing Stephen, and she told me I could raise money by stealing a child. I abducted the boy and took him to Ibadan, Oyo State, where Blessing lived with her husband (Israel Ariyo).
“The boy spent three days with them before we took him to Akwa Ibom where we sold him to Mrs Ntoro for N350,000.”
Stephen, a native of Nsitayi, Akwa Ibom State, said apart from Ojo, she had sold three children of hers to Ntoro, who in turn resold them.
She said, “I once lived in Ikota, Ajah. I dated one Julius Abang and he impregnated me. I had a boy named Emmanuel for him in 2010 and the following year, we broke up. My mother was taking care of me and the boy but when life became unbearable, I sought advice from Mrs Ntoro, who is from my village.
“She advised me to sell the child and tell his father that he is dead. I sold him for N150,000. In 2012, my mother died and I travelled to Akwa Ibom for her burial. I dated another man, a truck driver, and he impregnated me. After some time, he abandoned me and I sold the child I had for him for N100,000.
“In 2013, I met another lover who is a motorcycle rider. Within six months, he impregnated me but he was so poor that he could not even feed me or pay rent. The engine of the motorcycle packed up and he became jobless. We sold the baby for N250,000 and Mrs Ntoro collected N20,000. Later Mrs Ntoro called from the village that she needed another baby boy. I told Blessing (John) but unfortunately we ran into trouble.”
It was gathered that Ntoro, while being interrogated by the police, disclosed that she worked with Anthony and Godwin.
Anthony said Godwin, who was the husband of her late friend, contracted her to look for buyers for children, adding that he received about N300,000 proceeds from two babies they sold.
Godwin said he helped women to sell their babies because they were desperately in need of money.
He said, “A woman told me that her husband was doing illegal oil bunkering and was killed in the process. She said life was tough for her and that she wanted to sell one of her five children to survive the hardship. I told Mrs Anthony to look for a buyer. She sold the baby N450,000 and I gave the mother N350,000 and I collected only N100,000.”
The police said Ntoro and Godwin were being investigated to track those they the children to.

Price of Rice Goes Up, Up Again
AgegePulse Magazine
Consumers have expressed concern as the price of rice has continued to increase, a development, which has left vendors and consumers bitter.
Early this year, former Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Audu Ogbeh said the country had attained 90 per cent of rice production.
He said the country had moved from being a major importer of rice to being self-reliant in its production. He said it did not only have the capacity to feed itself, but had also become a major player in agricultural export to other countries.
Like Ogbeh, the Rice Farmers Association (RIFAN) said the country had attained a yearly production of eight million metric tonnes of rice, with a target of 18 million metric tonnes by 2023.
The contrast
These indices seemed to be farfetched from what was obtained in some markets visited. Rice vendors lamented the shortage. Since the border closure, they claimed that manufacturers and distributors had distributed short supply and the goods were rationed to get an even distribution in various markets across the country.
They said sometimes they were out of goods because the manufacturers did not have rice to sell. The shortfall they noted has been the major cause for the constant increase in price as manufacturers cannot meet up with the demand.
Barely three weeks after the closure of the border, the price of Nigerian rice skyrocketed from N12,000 – N13,300 to N15,000. At the moment, it is being sold for between N17, 000 and N19,000, depending on the brand. Brands, such as Famous, Lake Rice, Bigbull, Al-hamzad, Humza, and Olams Labana fall in this category. A derica of rice sells for N350 to N400. It is believed that, in few days, the price would go beyond N20,000.

Lagos Taskforce Arrests 14 Suspects with Illegal Drugs
AgegePulse Magazine
The operatives of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Enforcement Unit (Taskforce) raided an illegal brothel around Mile 2 area of Lagos in the early hours of today and arrested five notorious miscreants and nine prostitutes with illegal drugs.
Chairman of the Agency, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi said the raid became imperative following complaints that criminal activities around Mile 2 towards Festac were perpetrated by miscreants who reside in the illegal brothel.
Egbeyemi disclosed that the brothel had previously been demolished by the Agency during the clearing of illegal structures, shanties and containerised shops from Eric Moore Road down to Trade Fair axis.
"It was disheartening seeing that the demolished brothel had been re-built by the owner after it was demolished for illegal construction on road setbacks. The last time we demolished the illegal brothel, those miscreants taking refuge there at night attacked our officers with dangerous weapons", Egbeyemi disclosed.
He stated further that the brothel is noted for harbouring criminals who rob unsuspecting members of the public of their valuables and also serves as an outlet for the sale of illegal drugs such Indian hemp, Tramadol and other sex enhancement drugs, especially to underaged children.
The Taskforce Chairman maintained that the present administration would not fold its arms and allow miscreants to make life difficult for law-abiding citizens.
He confirmed that the illegal brothel was again demolished this morning by the Agency.
While assuring members of the public that the Agency and other security agencies would not rest on their oars, CSP Egbeyemi declared that all those arrested would be charged to court in compliance with the directive of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Zubairu Muazu.

NIGERIA COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION ROCHDALE, UK CELEBRATE NIGERIA @ 59
…Innovates With Flag Raising and Black - History Month Gala Dinner
AgegePulse Magazine
Ahead of the forthcoming 59th Independence celebration of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Nigeria Community Association (NCA) Rochdale, United Kingdom, have reeled out top notch arrangements aimed at making the day worthy of its cause.
NCA Rochdale, UK as gathered, is one of the leading socio-cultural organisations in the United Kingdom dedicated to the celebration and expansion of the frontiers of the Nigerian Brand; renowned for its legendary and outstanding socio-cultural values and heritage.
According to the Convener, Hon. Mrs Mary Adekugbe, “NCA is an evolution of my personal and professional passion and commitment to the projection of Nigeria’s rich cultural values; with a secondary objective of fostering unity amongst the multi ethnic groups residing in the United Kingdom”.
“Interestingly, given my professional antecedents, it initially started with an idea of ‘Nigerians in Rochdale’ Communal perspective but the resounding successes accompanying our various activities within a short period of its inception, necessitated our ever relentless unique innovation and expansion”, she added.
Adekugbe also explained that progressive efforts are constantly birthed towards increasing the scope and horizon of the association for a wholistic Pan - Nigerian picture; ultimately focussing on having representatives and active participation from all major tribes of Nigeria living in the United Kingdom.
As part of plans for the 59th Independence celebration of Nigeria in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom, Adekugbe disclosed that the planning committee have outlined innovative activities for the day.
“We are actually kick-starting the day with a Flag Raising ceremony at the Rochdale Town Hall, United Kingdom with Nigerians living in Rochdale and other parts of United Kingdom as well as top officials of the Rochdale Municipal Council in attendance”.
“The party train will converge later in the day for our Independence anniversary dinner tagged ‘Black – History Month Gala Dinner’. Besides the usual inter-personal networking, the unity in diversity theme would also play active role at the dinner with a display of Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage”, she stated.
Continuing, Adekugbe added that this coming event shall thrive on NCA’s passion for communal charity and humanism. Outstanding recognition and awards would be given out to deserving awardees who have all contributed in their own way to the development of the Nigerian Community in the United Kingdom.
“We are also aiming at making a public presentation of our proposed project tentatively tagged ‘The Nigeria Community Association Centre’; a building project for the association’s administrative, operational and charity purpose specifically dedicated to being a ‘home away from home’ for Nigerians in diaspora. Beyond my personal conviction, it is a reflection of NCA’s commitment to one of our corporate social responsibilities”, Adekugbe said.
Interestingly, and in view of the fact that October is Black History Month, NCA is also leveraging on this unique time and opportunity to celebrate the history, achievements and contributions of the black race to the global world. This and other initiatives, according to Adekugbe is chiefly aimed at expanding the horizon to bridge the gap between Nigerians and their host communities.
Scheduled to hold on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at the prestigious Castlemere Banqueting Hall in Greater Manchester, United Kingdom, the event has generated a lot of enthusiasm amongst Nigerians in United Kingdom and in diaspora.
“With all sense of modesty, NCA Rochdale has created a niche for itself as a Nigerian socio-cultural brand offering a platform of cultural projection, social integration and professional networking; regardless of colour, race, religion or ethnicity”.
Given our experience and level of preparation, as well as the various support we are getting from all and major stakeholders, I am confident that this coming event will be nothing short of glitz, glamour and most especially, success!”, Adekugbe hinted.
Scores injured in Lagos union fracas
AgegePulse Magazine
One person was feared killed in a fracas between transport union members in Okokomaiko Motor Park on Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night around 8pm
The Nation learnt that many were injured as the gangsters used dangerous weapons freely during the melee.
Motorists and passersby on the busy route were said to have scampered for safety.
The warring groups, it was learnt, inflicted injuries on those caught unawares.
Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Lagos State chapter Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (aka MC Oluomo) told The Nation that NURTW members were not involved in the fracas
Akinsanya said those fighting are members of the Road Transport Employees Association of Nigeria (RTEAN).
He said, “I have called our members at Okokomaiko Motor Park and they told me that it is RTEAN members that are fighting. I also sent some people to find out what is happening in Okokomaiko but I got the same report that those fighting are not members of our union.
” In any case, there is no reason for our members to fight one another because we have warned that the branches’ leadership should remain in office. We have also warned that no one should go and take over any branch.
“Anyone that does that risks being jailed. So, there is no point for our members to fight themselves.”
The NURTW boss said insinuation that he and his predecessor, Tajudeen Agbede are at loggerheads should be jettisoned.
“We were still together. There is no issue between us. He is an elder statesman in the union who wants peace to reign and he demonstrated it in his actions. People should cross-check their facts before going on social media, ” he said.
It would be recalled that a leadership tussle is brewing between the Lagos State chapter of the RTEAN and its national body.
Both in different publications announced the removal and counter-removal of the National President and the state executive.

Yahoo Boy Who Bought N125m Houses During His NYSC Makes Shocking Confession
AgegePulse Magazine
Victor Ojionu, a 30-year-old electrical engineering graduate, has told security agents that during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) he bought two buildings for N125 million.
Ojionu, who graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), said he became an internet fraudster in 2015, during his NYSC in Calabar, Cross Rivers State.
He said: “I learnt the internet fraud business in 2015 during my NYSC days in Cross Rivers State. I bought a house worth N60 million from the deal before I relocated to Abuja, where I bought another house for N65 million.
“What I do is mainly on the Alibaba site, where I trade with hacked credits cards. I buy my goods in China and sell them in Ghana. I bring the proceeds to Nigeria, where I have invested large portion of it on properties.”
Ojionu is presently in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Security agents said Ojionu specialised in hacking into credits cards belonging to Nigerians and foreign nationals.
He was arrested by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT), led by a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Abba Kyari, in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, for stealing over N500 million, within five years.
The suspect was later handed over to the EFCC for further investigation and prosecution.
Ojionu was alleged to have succeeded in defrauding his victims using a popular online retail site, Amazon.Com, where he allegedly sells books.
A security agent said: “The suspect designed a payment portal, known as Payoneer, which he linked to his book selling website on, Amazon.Com. He steals credits cards details and identities of its owner using his Payoneer, his payment portal.
“Once Ojionu succeeds in stealing the credit cards details of his victims, he would proceed in buying baby diapers, wipers, wristwatches and other expensive items from another online retail store, Alibaba.Com in China, and he would send the purchased items to Ghana, where they would be sold to his waiting buyers. After the items have been sold, Ojionu would travel to Ghana, retrieve his money from his buyers and send the proceeds to Nigeria through a Bureau de Change operator.
Ojionu has succeeded in buying two expensive cars, three mansions in Abuja, Cross Rivers and Imo states. The suspect also has a property under construction at Dabo Estate at Life Camp area of Abuja.”
Trouble started for Ojionu after one of his victims alerted the police and the EFCC about the theft of his credit card details. The complaint further noted that money, running into millions of naira, was removed from his account.
The complaint wrote a petition to the IG, Mohammed Adamu, who then instructed Kyari and his unit to investigate the matter. The suspect was subsequently arrested and handed over to the EFCC.
The IRT operatives trailed Ojionu to one of his mansions in Abuja, where he was apprehended.
