Ogba Elephant Club Elects New Executives and also receives an Award

The prestigious Elephant Club of Ogba, Agege has elected new executives to paddle the affairs of its members from 2016 to 2018.The newly elected executives are to lead Elephant Club for the 19th edition of imparting and touching lives in the communities ranging from sports, education, health and youth engagement amongst others.

The election held on Sunday September 4th, 2016 at the Palace of Ogbaland, Agege was presided over by the Regent of Ogbaland Mr. Jeleel Kehinde Ashade, staff of Agege LGA, Mr. Yakuba Owodina, Matron, Kehinde Orejoko, Mr. GbengaBamgboye and Otunba Yomi Durojaye of AgegePulse Magazine as returning officers.
Observers say the election was free, fair, credible,transparent and flawless. It was also confirmed best ever by stakeholders who witnessed the historic poll that brought in Mr. Moroofdeen Ashade and Miss Ronke Abimbola as new chairman and vice chairman of the club respectively.
Others are General Secretary, Mr. Musbaudeen Ashade, Asst. Sec. Mr. Alilu Salaudeen, Treasurer, Mr. Umar Muhammed, Financial Secretary, Alhaji. Lukman Ashade, Public Relations Officer, Mr. Gafar Busari and Organising Secretary, Miss Tanwa Ashade.
Chief Whip, Mr. Yusuf Ashade, Social and Welfare, Mr. Aruna Ashade, Ex- Officio, Alhaji Yusuf Salaudeen complete the new executives.
The Elephant Club of Ogba, Agege is a humanitarian group formed by jolly friends within the royal community about 20 years ago. Ever since its establishment, the club has been giving complementary support to the youths and elders of Ogbaland along with the effort of government whose resources is limited to the people.
The club has bagged several awards and recognitions for its relentless efforts towards ensuring a functional environment through effective engagement of youths in their community. One of such accolade was the special recognition award for youth community service bestowed on them by the Discovery for Youth initiative.
