AGEGE PUPIL EMERGED OVERALL BEST IN LAFARGE AFRICA'S LITERACY COMPETITION



... To represents Southwestern States in Nigeria at the Finals



 AYO IDOWU a Pupil from DAIRY FARM PRIMARY SCHOOL, SANGO, AGEGE was recently celebrated and honoured for putting Lagos and AGEGE LGA. on the world map through her exemplary and excellent success in the just concluded Regional Lafarge Africa National Literacy Competition.

She emerged winner as a Lagos State representative at the regional stage of the competition beating other representatives from other states from the South Western part of Nigeria, thus having emerged first she will be representing the entire  Public Primary Schools in the whole of the Southwestern NIGERIA at the FINALS of the Competition Schedule to come up soon.

The Executive Secretary of Local Government Education Authority, AGEGE Hon. Olalekan Olatunde Majiyagbe and also the Chairman of all Education Secretaries Forum in Lagos State could not hold back his Joy during the presentation of gift items to the pupil. He urge the People of AGEGE, Basic Education Family in AGEGE and the rest of the Southwestern States to continue praying for the pupil so that she can also succeed at the Finals.

He appreciates God almighty over the Victory and also thanked the Chairman of Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Ganiyu OLUREMI SOPEYIN for his Support, encouragement and interest in developing basic education across the State.

Agege Lgea Agege has always been in the news over educational achievements of this nature, so we were not surprised that the authority is at it again.  We Congratulate the Pupil, the teachers, her friends in class and Parents over this Victory.

Again: Lagos Education District One Wins 2017 LASG Essay Competition


...Bags Four Out of Seven Awards

There's no doubt that one thing which is synonymous to Lagos Education District One is award. A development that has christened the pilot of the district, Dr. Yinka Ayandele as OLUWA-FI-AWARDS-YIMIKA (God surround me with awards) due to consecutive show of brilliance by students, teachers, principals and other working staff at every competition.


This time, it was show of tenacity, carriage, indepth research, analysis and massive control of the English Language that gave representatives of district one covetable victory at the just concluded 2017 Lagos State Competition, winning four out of seven awards that were up for grab at the final yesterday.

Eunice Omojola of Jakande Estate Senior  College and Odeyale Micheal took the first and third positions respectively in the senior category while Kilanko Abiola  Idowu of Iju-Obawole Junior High School and Fadeyi Emmanuel Mayowa of Oba Moruff-Ojoola Junior High School scooped two more gongs in the Junior Category.

Speaking through her social media handle, the Tutor General/Permanent Secretary, Education District One, Dr. Yinka Ayandele, was full of praise for the students, teachers and others who contributed to the new heights attained by EDDI.

She said the district's success at the essay competition is reminiscent of it's slogan. She said:  "When you do it right, you will be the best".

Behold: Agege To Present Two Lagos State House Assembly Speakers On Wednesday

The rise in status of Agege LG and Orile Agege LCDA among comity of councils in Lagos State will get another boost on Wednesday when two golden sons of the councils file out as Honourable Speakers of the Lagos State House of Assembly, LSHA. 



This is because Master Daniel Philips who emerged third in the 2017 edition of New Era Spelling Bee Competition, will be decorated as a One-Day Rt. Honourable Speaker of LSHA on Wednesday, 13th September, 2017.

Daniel Philips, a JSSI student of Yewa Junior High School, Agege took many by surprise when he competed majestically against Senior Secondary Students of other schools to take the third position in the highly cerebral competition.

In an exclusive chat with the Philips family, AgegePulse learnt that Daniel made history as the first student to win in the Spelling Competition twice. He was the winner of the Junior Category in 2016 when he was in primary six.

Also, It was learnt that Daniel alongside the One-Day Governor and Deputy Governor, will begin his executive visitation on Monday 11th when he will be guest to Senator Oluremi Tinubu at her residence.

They would be meeting the number one family of Lagos State on Tuesday 12th before the grand finale of performing their official duties as One-Day Governor, Deputy and Speaker of the LSHA respectively on Wednesday 13th September, 2017.

Moreover, it may interest you to know that Lagos State Government has concluded plans to take Daniel Philips and his team on Education Tourism to Finland later in the year for their excellent performances at the Spelling Bee Competition.

Daniel is the elder brother of another genius of Agege and Lagos State, Favour Philips.

Ogba Elephant Club Elects New Executives and also receives an Award

The prestigious Elephant Club of Ogba, Agege has elected new executives to paddle the affairs of its members from 2016 to 2018.The newly elected executives are to lead Elephant Club for the 19th edition of imparting and touching lives in the communities ranging from sports, education, health and youth engagement amongst others.

The election held on Sunday September 4th, 2016 at the Palace of Ogbaland, Agege was presided over by the Regent of Ogbaland Mr. Jeleel Kehinde Ashade, staff of Agege LGA, Mr. Yakuba Owodina, Matron, Kehinde Orejoko, Mr. GbengaBamgboye and Otunba Yomi Durojaye of AgegePulse Magazine as returning officers.
Observers say the election was free, fair, credible,transparent and flawless. It was also confirmed best ever by stakeholders who witnessed the historic poll that brought in Mr. Moroofdeen Ashade and Miss Ronke Abimbola as new chairman and vice chairman of the club respectively.
Others are General Secretary, Mr. Musbaudeen Ashade, Asst. Sec. Mr. Alilu Salaudeen, Treasurer, Mr. Umar Muhammed, Financial Secretary, Alhaji. Lukman Ashade, Public Relations Officer, Mr. Gafar Busari and Organising Secretary, Miss Tanwa Ashade.
Chief Whip, Mr. Yusuf Ashade, Social and Welfare, Mr. Aruna Ashade, Ex- Officio, Alhaji Yusuf Salaudeen complete the new executives.
The Elephant Club of Ogba, Agege is a humanitarian group formed by jolly friends within the royal community about 20 years ago. Ever since its establishment, the club has been giving complementary support to the youths and elders of Ogbaland along with the effort of government whose resources is limited to the people.
The club has bagged several awards and recognitions for its relentless efforts towards ensuring a functional environment through effective engagement of youths in their community. One of such accolade was the special recognition award for youth community service bestowed on them by the Discovery for Youth initiative.
