Ambode presents certificates to 1,500 retrained Artisans, Traders
…Orders MDAs To Engage Informal Sector In Executing Govt Projects, Contracts
...Vows Continuous Implementation Of Policies To Advance Sector
Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode on Thursday presented certificates to 1,500 artisans and traders in the State who were retrained on modular employability programme as part of efforts to scale up the informal sector with the view to making members meet up with current realities.
The beneficiaries drawn from various associations under the auspices of the Lagos State Council of Tradesmen and Artisans (LASCOTA), were solely trained by the State Government for enhanced productivity in a total of twenty-four trades including entrepreneurship, computer appreciation, writing business proposals, among others.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony and 8th Tradesmen and Artisans Day held at De Blue Roof, LTV 8 Compound in Ikeja, Governor Ambode said the role of artisans and traders in the pyramid of socio-economic development of the nation was very critical in achieving sustainable growth and overall prosperity of the people.
He said it was in recognition of such fact that his administration had shown commitment towards ensuring that the event was not only sustained eight years after, but also designed to be more rewarding.
Governor Ambode, who recalled various initiatives designed to scale up the informal sector such as the N25billion Employment Trust Fund (ETF), among others, assured traders and artisans in the State that government would continue to implement strategies and programmes to promote their businesses and create conducive environment for their operation.
He said: “Giving the strategic role of the informal sector in our economic development in this State, our administration has opened an online portal designed to facilitate interaction among artisans, customers/end-users and relevant stakeholders.
“It is our primary role to make it easy and convenient for people in need of high quality service to meet reliable, trusted and verifiable service providers. It is also aimed at enhancing the productivity, competitiveness, creativity and vitality of this sector.”
While expressing excitement with the fact that it was the tailors from the State that produced the academic gowns used for the graduation, the Governor said moving forward, the State Government would now start to officially engage traders and artisans on jobs that would improve their economy.
Speaking on specific requests made by LACOSTA, the Governor said: “As a start, we instruct the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment to see the capabilities and the opportunities that we can spread out from State jobs and contracts and give to our artisans.
“I am very happy to note that we have graduates among you and also graduates who are also your children. So, we hereby create an immediate opportunity through your associations to be able to recruit into key areas in the public service where we can need your services. These are not political promises, we keep our promises and we will fulfil all our promises,” Governor Ambode said.
While congratulating the artisans and traders for successfully undergoing the training, the Governor urged them to put all they have learnt to effective practice, and leverage on the endless opportunities of the strategic position of Lagos as one of the fastest growing economies in the world to be solution providers, just as he assured that the State Government would continue to provide and maintain the required infrastructure and conducive environment for businesses to thrive.
Besides, Governor Ambode launched a compendium of artisans in the State to boost the informal sector, and also inaugurated operational bus donated to LACOSTA by the State Government.
Earlier, in his opening remarks, Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Mr Babatunde Durosinmi-Etti said since the last edition of the event, Governor Ambode, as requested by LACOSTA, had already approved N12million annual subvention to the association and increased the number of beneficiaries in 2017 to 1500 from the 500 that were trained in 2016.
Also, LACOSTA President, Alhaji Nurudeen Buhari commended Governor Ambode for keeping his promise of scaling up the informal sector and prioritizing the interest of artisans and traders in the State. He said as promised by the Governor, many of their members have benefited from the ETF loan, among other fulfilled promises.

Gov. Ambode to make Agege Stadium fit for CAF Champions League
Receives MFM FC, Donates N50M To Club
…Says Lagos Games Village To Commence In 2018
Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode on Wednesday heaped praises on the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Football Club for returning the State back to the prestigious CAF Champions League sixteen years after a team from the State participated in the tournament.
Speaking at Lagos House in Alausa, Ikeja when he received MFM FC alongside top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as well as some ex-internationals, Governor Ambode said it was gratifying that a team from the State would be participating in the 2018 edition of the continental tournament after such a long time, just as he pledged to assist the team with the necessary support to ensure successful campaign at the championship.
While congratulating the team for the feat, Governor Ambode particularly acknowledged and saluted the vision of MFM General Overseer, Pastor Kayode Olukoya who founded the team ten years ago, saying that the State Government was proud to associate with his idea of meaningfully engaging the youths to contribute positively to the society.
Responding to some requests by the MFM FC, Governor Ambode donated N25milion to the footballers and officials of the club for qualifying for the CAF Champions League and another N25million to ensure hitch-free campaign, as well as adequately prepare for the tournament.
Already, the Governor said the State Sports Commission had been directed to ensure that the Agege Stadium, which is the home-ground being used by MFM FC, be put in good shape to meet up with CAF standard before inspection in December.
I want to also say that we have directed our sports team and the Sports Commission to make sure that everything needed, just as earlier requested, to ensure that Agege Stadium is certified by CAF is done, Governor Ambode said.
While recalling the promise he made to the people during electioneering to use tourism, hospitality, entertainment and arts as well as sports for excellence, Governor Ambode said the feat by the team aptly conform with the vision and plan of the State Government to use sports to advance the economy and positively engage the youths.
According to him, We need sports to use it as an instrument to build the economy of Lagos and also direct the energy of our younger ones to things that are very positive as exemplified by what is happening today. Beyond football, they continue to use it for their own mental ability to be able to be proud future leaders in this country and that is what we are trying to say.
It is a way of propagating new leaders and people who are properly disciplined because you need a lot of discipline to play football. There are things that are not taught in schools that you actually find in sports and that is the direction we are trying to go with youth development in this State and so I like to commend the team and the officials, the Governor said.
While speaking on other plans for sports development in the State, Governor Ambode said aside the ongoing transformation of Onikan Stadium to world class standard, a major upgrade of the Teslim Balogun Stadium would soon be carried out, while efforts were already ongoing for the Lagos Games Village located along the Lekki-Epe axis to commence in 2018.
Also, the Governor said his administration would soon invite stakeholders in the sports sector to discuss modalities for the Lagos Premier League which, according to him, would have twenty teams.
However, Governor Ambode charged the MFM FC to be good ambassadors of the State and be at their best at the tournament.
Earlier, MFM Director of Sports Worldwide, Mr Godwin Enakhena commended Governor Ambode and indeed the State Government for the support so far extended to the team, saying the assistance contributed to the feat achieved by the team to play at the continental level.
He recalled how the State Government released Agege Stadium to MFM FC free of charge for use as home-ground and other security arrangements, as well as logistics, adding that the immense support of the government was well appreciated.
Enakhena, who spoke on behalf of Pastor Olukoya, however, urged the State Government to continue to support the team especially financial support and also make Agege Stadium suitable for CAF Champions League, the requests which were instantly granted by the Governor.

REVEALED: HOW TINUBU'S SON, JIDE DIED MYSTERIOUSLY - AgegePulse
...As eminent Nigerians sympathize with family
Nigerians were thrown into mourning state when the rude news of the demise of first son of All Progressives Congress, APC National Leader, Ashiwaju Bola Tinubu arrested the airwaves on a black Wednesday.
However, barely 24 hours into the death of Jide Tinubu, the circumstance which led to his transition to the underworld has been revealed.
According to a member of the Tinubu family, who spoke on anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the matter, Jide suddenly collapsed and died from what was suspected to be a heart attack around 9pm on Tuesday.
The source said, "however, after the incidence, close family members rushed him down to hospital on Lagos Island where he was confirmed dead on arrival,”
He added that the tragic news was kept secret because the father, Bola Tinubu, was in Abuja for the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of his party, the APC.
Eventually, Chairman of APC in Lagos, Otunba Henry Ajomale confirmed Jide’s death in a short statement he (Ajomale) issued on Wednesday.
“It’s with regrets that I inform you of the demise of Mr. Jide Tinubu, the Son of Our dear and esteemed Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, eminent Nigerians which include President Muhammadu Buhari, Senate President, Bukola Saraki, House of Representatives Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, and the All Progressives Congress, have extended condolence messages to the family of Bola and Senator Oluremi Tinubu urging them to remain strong at this ugly moment in the family's life.
Agege Pulse learnt that the late Jide was a 40year old legal luminary who has been on the board of respected international companies in the oil and gas sector as part of their legal team
Gov. Ambode Charges Corporate Bodies on CSR - AgegePulse
...Launches Community Needs Assessment Report
Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has charged corporate bodies in the state to urgently support the effort of the government by engaging in Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, to develop grassroots communities in the state.
Speaking at the Inaugural CSR Lagos Business Luncheon on Matching 2018 Corporate Social Responsibility Budgets to the Needs of Lagos State Communities, held in Victoria Island, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria on Tuesday, Ambode said the population of Lagos had been increasing on daily basis, hence the need for the private sector to support the efforts of the government through CSR.
The challenge has increased over the years because of recession in the economy which has stretched the resources of the government to cater for the weak and the old, he said, adding that the people at the grassroots had risen to the challenges of their environment by engaging in self-help projects.
Ambode, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Tunji Bello said the state had now reached a time when non-state actors must play more role in supporting the self-help projects and programmes of the communities.
The 24 million people who inhabit Lagos State today, including the corporate players must see Lagos as one big family where the rich help the poor and where each is his brother’s keeper, he said.
The governor said he looked forward to serious partnership between the private sector and the government in the next 24 months in the areas of needs assessment of the communities which cut across drainage rehabilitations, roads, electricity, pipe borne water, among others.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Communities and Communications, Kehinde Bamigbetan said right from the onset, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode had made it clear that he would embark on inclusive governance that would give power to the people at the grassroots for even development of communities.
He said this mission had manifested in the empowerment of the communities as community leaders were being carried along on projects awarded by the government in the various communities, adding that during the construction of the 114 roads, community leaders were allowed to play active part in the process.
Bamigbetan stated that apart of government’s efforts to reposition the grassroots, it had come to a point where CSR was greatly needed as government could not do all alone and needed the partnership of the private sector through CSR.
The special adviser emphasized that CSR would enable communities tackle their problems which had been spelt out in the needs assessment, saying that corporate bodies could include CSR in their budgets for 2018.
Launching the Community Needs Assessment Report 2017, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, Fola Padonu disclosed that 16 items were identified in the needs assessment, which he said. Included drainages, electricity, roads, community halls, public toilets, motor parks, among others.
He said the private sector could partner with government in five selected needs such as drainages, roads, electricity, pipe borne water and grading of roads, adding that the private sector must assist the government to revamp the five areas as government could not provide them alone as they were capital intensive.
Speaking, Deputy Consulate General, Peoples Republic of China, Guan Zhongpi, said the Chinese government had been partnering with Lagos in the area of CSR and that more attention would be given to the needs of the communities next year.
He said the Consulate had previously implemented more than 10 CSR projects in Lagos, such as donating equipment to schools, sinking of boreholes at the Lagos University, among others.
Present at the event were representatives from Dangote Groups, Chevron, Heritage Bank and several others which promised to partner with government in the area of CSR next year.

President to appoint more ministers, heads of agencies
A move by some governors on the platform of the All Progressives Congress to use the platform of the National Executive Council of the party to endorse President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term failed on Tuesday.
The APC NEC is the second highest decision-making body of the party after the national convention.
Signs of what was in the offing became apparent early in the day as some governors known to be close allies of the President extended a campaign they began at an event organised by the Buhari Support Organisation in Abuja on Saturday.
In separate interviews with reporters at the APC National Secretariat, the venue of Tuesday’s NEC meeting, the Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Owelle Rochas Okorocha; his Plateau and Kebbi counterparts, Simon Lalong and Atiku Bagudu, respectively said only Buhari had what it would take to fly the party’s flag in 2019.
The governors spoke before the commencement of the NEC meeting. Lalong said all the governors had agreed to work towards the President’s re-election in 2019.
He said, Concerning the issue of sole ticket for Mr. President, I want to say that if Mr. President is performing, well-respected and carrying everybody along, all of us have resolved that we will work for him.
He then asked a rhetorical question, Do we have any other person that will challenge the President again? Whatever you call it, as far as we are concerned, we have one President and that is the ticket we will fly.
I want to assure you that you won’t see a wrangling party after the meeting. From now onwards, it will be focused governance from Mr. President and all the governors from the states. We have all resolved to support Mr. President.
His Kebbi State counterpart, Atiku Bagudu, who was also responding to a question on whether the governors had resolved to give the President an automatic ticket, said, “The performance of the President in the last two and half years suggests that if he wants to contest, l will certainly support him and l know that our party members feel the same about him.”
However, the governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Al-Makura, expressed a slightly different opinion.
While responding to a similar question, he said, “For anybody to preempt the consensus opinion of the people is to say the least not fair to the vision of our party.
I can tell you if there is anything that is clandestine, the President will not honour it. So, let’s wait and see as we embark on these meetings.
I believe the consensus and the preponderance of opinion of all party members will be what is good for this country and we have already known the will of this country, the future of this country as we are now as a country is associated with one person, who is impeccable, who has the greatest amount of integrity that you can find in any human being around; so, your guess is as good as mine.
Also speaking on the issue, Okorocha, who is also Imo State governor, said only a decision by President Buhari to contest the 2019 election could make him drop his personal presidential ambition.
He said, “If Mr. President wants to run for election, he will follow all the processes and if he is the person, we will all support him. In APC, there is no imposition of candidate.
If Buhari is running, I will allow that man to continue but if he is not running, I won’t sacrifice my Presidential ambition. Mr. President is showing the right leadership and taking the very right steps and there is reconciliation going on even with nobody talking about it. There is the spirit of reconciliation and people understand their role.
Our role is to make this party great and we are all trying to do that; but importantly, the governors have remained the pivot upon which this wheel of change has rotated so far. We have kept this party working and after this meeting, our congresses and convention will commence in the early part of next year and all party organs will be strengthened. We are in good mood and high spirits.
During the meeting proper, one of the party members moved a motion asking that a vote of confidence be passed in the President and that he should be endorsed as the party’s candidate for the forthcoming presidential election.
This however failed to sail through. The party members felt that considering the fact that aggrieved members had yet to be pacified, doing so would escalate tension in the party and adversely affect its chances.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, confirmed this while speaking to newsmen after the NEC meeting.
He explained that the Tuesday’s NEC meeting was not about the 2019 elections but that there was a motion asking that first, a vote of confidence be passed in the President and then he should be endorsed as the party’s candidate for the 2019 election.
Dogara said, “Today’s meeting was not about 2019 elections. When we talk about 2019 in the context of the agenda you saw, we are talking about membership registration, the drive for membership and others. We are not talking about elections.
Even though there was a motion on the floor that called for a vote of confidence in the President, some of us felt it was not necessary because there is nowhere that his confidence is shaking.
But the motion was taken and passed. But there was a second leg to that motion which calls for the adoption of the candidature of the President, but it was deferred for now and no decision was taken because that is not the major reason why we are here.”
He further explained that the party had yet to agree on a date for its inaugural bi-annual national convention because details were still being worked out.
The Speaker noted that some of the grievances expressed by party members were normal in every family.
He stressed that there was no family without its internal squabbles; and noted the challenges were being handled and would soon be resolved.
Similarly, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, explained that a member of the party’s NEC made a move for a confidence vote in the President after a briefing by the Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbeh, about the activities of his ministry.
Abdullahi said, “One of the NEC members said we should move a motion passing a vote of confidence in Mr. President. There was no formal motion moved on the issue of second term for Mr. President.
Somebody in the crowd shouted that we should move a motion and we don’t even know that member. But the motion that was formally moved was that NEC should pass a vote of confidence in Mr. President and that was after the brief given by the Minister of Agriculture, especially when he said that by 2018, Nigeria would have no need to import a single grain of rice. That is the context and I need you to understand that very well.”
He added, “The only discussion or conversation on 2019 was the activity of the party in 2018, especially the issue of convention. It was agreed that since we have all these activities lined up, including the mini-convention, congresses and elective convention, a small team be set up to put dates to these party activities up to 2018.
There was no discussion about election of 2019 or who will be the party flag bearer. The committee will decide when all these activities will take place.”
Abdullahi also said a vote of confidence was passed in the Chief John Odigie-Oyegun National Working Committee of the party.

…Lagos Health Insurance Scheme To Kick Off Early 2018, Says Gov
Queen of Netherlands, Her Majesty, Maxima Zorreguieta Cerruti on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode as part of efforts to advance the United Nation’s financial inclusion advocacy as a vehicle to alleviate poverty and fostering equitable economic growth in Nigeria.
Queen Maxima, who was visiting Nigeria for the first time in the last five years, in her capacity as the Special Advocate to United Nations’ Secretary General on financial inclusion for development, said she was impressed by the initiatives of the State Government to improve service delivery especially towards expanding access to affordable healthcare.
While noting that it was important for governments to prioritize access to affordable healthcare, Queen Maxima particularly lauded the health insurance scheme of the State Government, which legal framework had already been put in place, saying that Governor Ambode deserved commendation for coming up with such laudable effort.
She said: “Today I had opportunity to visit two clinics in the State where I saw the new pilot project in which you (Governor Ambode) has also started looking into which is to make health insurance possible even to the poorest of the people.
“I was very impressed by the leadership that the State of Lagos has taken as to coming up with a law which makes health insurance mandatory and also to able to plan for the future and you are already doing some credit to some health facilities which off course will improve efficiency of a lot of these institutions. I commend you for your efforts and I will like to know from you Mr Governor what is your commitment on the future in this field,” she said.
Responding, Governor Ambode said the Health Insurance Scheme of the State Government aimed at expanding access and scaling up healthcare delivery in the State will commence in early 2018.
He said the legal framework to guide the implementation of the policy had already been put in place, while every necessary efforts to ensure the success of the scheme were being put in place.
Governor Ambode, who received Queen Maxima alongside his wife, Mrs Bolanle Ambode and other top officials of the State, commended the visitor for her efforts at advancing issues relating to healthcare and financial inclusion.
Speaking on the health insurance policy of the State Government, the Governor said: “We are on the path of positive improvement on the things that have to do with health. Like the Queen rightly said, we have a law that allows us to do the Health Insurance Scheme which is targeted at the most-needy and the poor that cannot afford ordinary healthcare. We believe that if we pull the resources of every other person in the State together, those that cannot afford will be able to have a chance to access healthcare which is the main objective why the Queen has been going round to promote good healthcare for people generally.
“We want to say that we are deeply committed to that vision and we are committed to that ideals and also say that we will do everything possible to make sure that the Health Insurance Scheme starts up early next year and we can now allow people to have some sense of inclusion which is one of the basic principles of good governance.
“The main essence of good governance is for us to be able to carry everybody along. In a cosmopolitan city like Lagos that we have population of almost 22million people and the majority can really not afford the things we want them to, and so we believe strongly that a partnership like this is one in the right direction.”
On financial inclusion, Governor Ambode said the informal sector accounted for about 80 per cent of Lagos population, a development he said prompted his administration to set up N25billion Employment Trust Fund (ETF) to serve as an instrument to grant members of the sector access to finance.
Besides, Governor Ambode said it was time to call on the Federal Government to scale up financial inclusion with the view to expanding access for more people to benefit, while also calling for escalation of mobile banking to ensure that more people from the rural areas have access to finance and all issues connected.
While drawing the similarities between Lagos and Netherlands, Governor Ambode said the State, being a cosmopolitan city, is striving as much as possible to ensure that every resident is comforted with hope of great future.
He said the present administration in the State under him was also working hard to bequeath functional and affordable healthcare system to the people of the State, just as he assured that the State Government would do everything possible to support the United Nations initiative being championed by Queen Maxima.

Governor Ambode to commence 181 new roads soon
AgegePulse Magazine
...To bridge infrastructure gap between the divisions, districts to make every part livable
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Monday pledged his readiness to make every part of the State livable by bridging the infrastructure gap between the divisions and senatorial districts.
The Governor who spoke through the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Tunji Bello, at the opening ceremony of the 4th summit of the Association of Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries with the theme "IBILE ECHOES" added that the present administration will make every part of the State economic centres.
“Making every part of the State economic centres is a key strategy to address the challenge of rural-urban migration which has a negative impact on urban infrastructures and other social and economic challenges”, the Governor stated.
He noted that part of what had been done by the Government in this regard is the connection of communities in Ibeju- Lekki and Badagry to the national grid after several years without electric power supply.
“Part of what we have done in this regard is the connection of communities in Ibeju Lekki and Badagry to the national grid after several years without electric power supply. In addition, the 114 roads initiative has been delivered while the 181 new roads will commence very soon”, he said.
Governor Ambode expressed the belief that every division of the State has something to contribute to its collective prosperity if properly harnessed, adding that one of the key policy objectives of the administration is to ensure even development among the five divisions or three Senatorial districts.
He cited the example of the Badagry and Epe axis with its great tourism potentials, stressing that it is one sector with limitless opportunities in terms of wealth and employment creation.
In his words: “We are therefore committed to opening up these two axes through massive investment in infrastructure development and renewal to attract both local and foreign investors. When fully developed, our State will join other cities and countries whose major chunk of foreign exchange comes from tourism”.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Head of Service, Mrs. Olabowale Ademola said members of ALARHOSPS are at a critical turn in the history of the State because its 50th anniversary has been celebrated and this gave them the opportunity to reflect on history and the reasons that Lagos
State is a Centre of Excellence.
She added that the forum will leverage on lessons learnt to chart the course for a brighter and rewarding future.
She, therefore, urged ALARHOSPS members to focus deliberations on the impact of Government’s policies, programmes and projects on communities with a view to developing strategies to improve the effectiveness of Government’s interventions in the areas of socio-economic development, inclusive governance and environmental sustainability.
Also speaking, the President of the Association of Lagos State Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries, Alhaji Omokayode Anjorin who was represented by the 1st Vice-President, Alhaji Mohammed Olagbaye, said in the almost three years of its existence, ALARHOPS has been waxing stronger, expressing appreciation to the Governor for his support at all times.

History Rewritten as Olu Agege Conferred Chieftaincy Titles On Prominent Personalities
AgegePulse Magazine
History was made in Agege traditional circle yesterday as Olu Agege, HRM Oba Kamila Oyedeji Isiba conferred chieftaincy titles on prominent personalities of Agege Kingdom amidst pomp and circumstances.
The conferment and installation of the New Chiefs and Baales is coming five years after the investiture of HRM Oba, Kamila Isiba as the Olu of Agege Kingdom.
According to the custodian of culture, the palace made careful consultations on all the new chiefs before approving them worthy of the leadership positions.
The colourful event could well be regarded as a perfect description of the popular saying that, chieftaincy titles are only meant for society well-to-dos who have successfully carved a respectable niche for themselves in their respective endeavours.
There was enough quid to spin around for the monetary demands on such occasion as both the new chiefs and their guests proved beyond doubt that they were worthy of the titles.
Below are the New Chiefs and their titles:
- High Chief Lawal Adeshina Badmus becomes Baale Atobaje of Agege kingdom.
- Chief Babatunde Taiwo Oladehinde Akorede becomes Apesin of Agege kingdom.
- Alhaja Chief Mrs Shakirat Oluwatoyin Kuku Salaudeen becomes Yeye Tayese of Agege Kingdom.
- Chief Lateef Otubu a.k.a EBA becomes Olori Odo of Agege kingdom.
- Chief Dr Jimoh Arobadade becomes Ajana of Agege kingdom.
- High Chief Wakilu becomes Baale Panada of Agege Kingdom.
Top dignitaries who marked attendance at the historic event include: Alaege of Orile Agege, HRM Oba Agbedeji, the Special Adviser to Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker who doubles as Otun of Agege Kingdom, Otunba Richard Osungboye, the chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers, Lagos State Chapter, Chief Tajudeen Agbede, The Alawowo of Awowo Land, first Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government, Chief Owolabi Dada, the Oniro of Iro Land, Oba Olasunkanmi Tijani, Chief Mrs Nike Olasoji to mention but a few.
The installations followed sumptuous receptions across event centers in Agege where delightful delicacies and assorted drinks were served.

Breaking: ANTHONY JOSHUA DEFENDS WBO TITLES
...Hails Takam As Holyfield-like fighter
Nigerian born UK heavyweight boxer, Anthony Olufemi Joshua has successfully defended his WBO HEAVYWEIGHTS Belt after an impressive 10rounds knockout of Carlos Takam.
Nigerian born UK heavyweight boxer, Anthony Olufemi Joshua has successfully defended his WBO HEAVYWEIGHTS Belt after an impressive 10rounds knockout of Carlos Takam, that makes it 20 KOS out of 20.
Shortly after another knockout victory over tough battling counterpart, Carlos Takam, Nigerian Born UK WBO Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua has hailed Takam as an Holyfield-like fighter who bends down to hit opponent and bobs up.
"Thank you Cardiff in coming. Not my job to worry about the referee it is my job to break my opponent down round by round. I think people want to see Takam unconscious on the ground, am I right? (Crowd cheers) And that was the point I was trying to get to. But I cannot control the referee.
He comes down and bobs up, like Holyfield. This is a championship, if I had not been able to breathe... then it would have been a massive disaster. But if I had showed any weakness the referee might have stepped in. That's what the ref did to him, he jumped in early.
It feels broken. My plans now? To get my nose cracked back into place, for starters.
I cannot fight Joe Bloggs from nowhere. I have obligations. Once I have done them I will fight anyone. My door is open to all challengers." Joshua stated.

Take lead role in national development - COWLSO urges women
AgegePulse Magazine
The Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials, COWLSO, has charged women to be positively aggressive and assertive in words to contribute to the development of the nation.
This was one of the recommendations at this year's National Women's Conference organized by COWLSO at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.
Delivering her closing remarks, the wife of the Lagos State Governor and Chairman, COWLSO, Mrs Bolanle Ambode urged participants at the conference to make use of what they learnt for their personal benefits.
Mrs. Ambode said women should key into the area of entrepreneurship at this challenging period to make positive impact.
In the area of agriculture, she challenged women to have good mentors, be consistent and persist in doing things right as challenges were stepping stones that did not kill.
She urged them to take advantage of the paradigm shift from crude oil, which is leading to a major leap for the agricultural sector.
On the experience garnered at the conference, Mrs Ambode explained that one of the things learnt during the conference was that, stress contributed to death of six out of 10 people worldwide, adding that as such, women should conduct annual comprehensive medical checkups, exercise regularly, maintain ideal body weight and shun habits like smoking, hard drugs, among others.
On his part, Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode tasked women to implement all 21 resolutions reached at this year's COWLSO Conference ahead of the 2018 edition.
The governor reiterated government's commitment towards supporting the course of women in Lagos State.
The special guest of honour, the Governor of Adamawa State, Bindo Jibrilla, represented by his Deputy, Matis Babale, in declaring the conference closed urged women to be nation builders. He charged them to be creative and industrious, so as to positively transform the family, community and the nation at large.
The communique read by Prof. Ibiyemi Bello also charged women to embrace entrepreneurial disposition which would be helpful in overcoming challenging situations.
The conference said there should be more advocacy to encourage women to explore their innate abilities to make a difference.
It charged women to source for funds through grants equity and debt financing.
Also, COWLSO urged government to provide land and conducive environment for women farmers, adding that women could source funds through grants, equity and debt financing, among others.
It stressed that government should provide more opportunities and full support for young women and youths, to acquire skills for agri-business, while women should be empowered to take care of the family, community and nation, among others.
Recall that 3 cars were won last year, while 6 brand new cars, comprising of 1 Hyundai 110 and 5 MG cars were won alongside all expenses paid trips to Dubai among other gifts won at the gala night.
Certificates of appreciation were presented to friends of COWLSO - Chief Micheal Ade-Ojo; Chi-Nigeria Limited and Chevron Nigeria Limited.
